Going to try it today to see how effective it is and maximizing jungle routes and then ill up vote it. thanks for taking the time to write this and share your info. And to the trolls who took time out of there lives to trash you with half a sentence, well that's time out of there vigorous masturbating schedules, so thanks to you to. So while you'll be beating yourselves all day i will be beating you out on the battlefields with heavily fortified Turrets.
A tip of the hat ol'chap

As to runes you can include my experience with 9x Armor Pen Marks. They work just as well. I am however saving up IP to complete my Atk. Speed Marks for this build. Since I don't have many Marks yet, I can't really say which one turns out to be the more viable Rune set.
Keep it taunting!
+1 =)
It's actually pretty much always the case. Carry without flash means no chance to make up for an out-of-position mistake. Even champions with natural escapes like Corki, Ezreal, and Kassadin will STILL TAKE FLASH because it's that good of a spell for a carry.

Ez and Kass most likely wont take flash if they have confidence in themselves. Even at high Elo - and flash is overrated tbh. But that's another story which isn't for now ;)
And you said it yourself "Pretty much always the case". Pretty much means it isn't always, which could be translated into that it isn't NEEDED right?
That thread have exactly the same narrowminded thoughts we've seen here, and they just as you completely ignore the fact that there are lots of abilites that deal FAR higher amounts of damage in an instant than smite - which actually means that after the 10 min mark of the game, you can no longer be 100% sure in that no one can steal your buffs just because you have smite. And assuming you play against a Cho in a sololane then it might be even earlier.
As I said, smite is great - but it isn't "needed" it's place can be fit by alot of champs/abilities.
Saying it is ******ed to jungle without smite is the same to say that for instance a carry should always pack flash. No matter what, and THAT is definately not always the case.

Smite does never "secure" baron or dragon kills. You can always get f*cked up by that AP Nunu or Cho'Gath feast - Actually alot of champs can steal dragon or baron because while smite is high amount of true damage. Most AP carries get a nuke that deals higher damage than that in lategame.

Really dont be so closeminded people, this is a great guide for an alternative way to play a jungle Rammus. He comes with in particularily one very good point on the item deparment - Philosopher's stone! I've never thought of doing that on Rammus and I believe that it could really be working.
Definately this guide deserves a +1 for being original, new and pretty informative.
You're all welcome to try it.
