Throw out the Frozen Mallet and replace if with a Trinity force and you'll have yourself a decent build. I just don't see the point in having an FM. :/

Check out my Jarvan IV Solo Top guide though, and see what you think.

As far as my two cents in regards to the guide, there are -a few- major issues.

One, you can't call this an AD / Tank hybrid. This is tanky DPS, and not even a particularly "tanky" DPS at that.

With the gear you've listed, you'll deal lots of damage, there's no denying that.

But, the problem lies in the way the game is currently headed.

The current meta is shifting towards duo AP solo lanes.

Meaning, if you want to make it through mid game, you're gonna need MR. It's just inevitable given the current state of things.

The amount of MR offered here (25), will leave you incredibly vulnerable to that sort of attack, which is rapidly becoming the most standard and acceptable type of damage being dealt during the mid game phases.

HP will only do so much in regards to protecting you from the kind of damage Vlad or Annie or Rumble can generate. Even champions like Corki output a lot of magic damage as well.

On the actual guide, the items are pretty whack, you don't need mallet's slow, as you have FAR enough CC as it is, you don't need merc treads since your escape mechanisms are too great, and if you have common sence, you won't need the 35% reduction.

- I like the boots, never enough tenacity.

Sunfire isn't great, since Jarvan is more hit n' run so you won't be battling for long.

-Jarvan should be tanky enough to jump into battle and survive the whole thing. That being said, Sunfire isn't one of my first choices for him.

Infinity edge is I think (don't remember) the most expensive item in the game, and it's stats are pretty good, most of the cost is aimed towards its passive, and I only like it if you've got a ballsload of crit, so you can take advantage of that passive to its fullest. You have only 53% crit, so it's not enough to buy infinity edge.

What's attack damage without attack speed? Very lacking in attack speed.

- His E gives plenty of attack speed.

I like health more than I do armor, and it's great to have lots of armor, I usually have over 100+, but health has the ability to be more deceptive. You check their health, not their armor when you click on them, right? They won't focus you if they see the 100 health lines fondling each other, even if you do have little armor.

That being said, I find Trinity Force is a great base for Jarvan, and as you should be going top and last hitting well, it doesn't take too long to get. I also prefer health over armor.

Good build, but i prefer Jarvan as a constand AD bulky DPS/offtank. I would substitute the very expensive I.E. with lifesteal/armor from wriggles lantern, but the Atma's is nice for it's passive AD from max health. However, in some cases it can be replaced with black cleaver for extra AD, AS, and armor reduction (although this switch is a little bit damage greedy for higher level games)

Very nice build ^_^ ME GUSTA

I love how you think a downvote = trolling. It's not, if you can't take constructive criticism, don't post your guide. Also, "Under contruction guides" are bad IMO, if you won't take the time to finish it before you present it, then don't.

Um with jarvans passive you dont need attack speed to deal damage like most auto attckers.

Nice guide. Helped me figure out how to play Jarvan (in terms of role, I get the moves and combos!), as his place on the battlefield is ambigious to say the least.

So thanks. Had good success after reading this. :)

Epic build. First game as Jarvan IV and I went 7-2-16. Great balance between survivability and damage. I usually go for exhaust and ghost but that just me. I also find with this build you are your teams best friend and the other teams enemy and they are clearly scared of you from your damage and tankyness. This build has honestly made Jarvan IV one of my favorite champions. Thank you and congrats on making this build.
