Most on-hit items tend to have Attack Speed built into them.
This causes a redundancy that negates your argument. Tristana is best with raw AD, and possibly one or two AS item for normal farming supplement.
Like Madred's for tanks, Starks, Black Cleaver for heavy armor, Phantom Dancer cause it's awesome etc..
Well, it is indeed "redundant", but as long as you dont hit 2.5AS, you're not wasting any potential. Say you get Wit's End and Madred's. You got all the AS you may want (I think you hit something like 2.4ish on rapid fire). You can then move on to stuff like Mallet and any survivability.
Of course you dont build this way when you're supposed to carry, but it can fit some teams and does a great job. Then there can be something I forgot to think of, but beside "well it's better to crit the hell out of em" I cant see. But I guess we're touching some theory crafting right now...

It works pretty well on Teemo, but I have to admit I wonder how "standard" Nidalee builds would benefit so much from Nashor's AS boost.
