The reason you build Jarvan as tanky dps is because all his abilities puts you in the range of every single enemy in a teamfight. You will be focused down faster than you can use your passive on even 3 people. Think of it this way, you ult in, catching MF, Ryze and Sion. What happens next? you get chain stunned by Ryze and Sion and nuked down by all three of them in less than 1 sec because you have no resistance and around 2000 health. Then what happens? because you died your teammates are unable to reach the three you trapped since you cant release your ult when ur dead. MF and Ryze just sit in their bunker made by you and nuke your team to hell. If you want to play pure AD there are WAY better pure AD champs out there like Nocturne, Corki, Trynd, etc, no need to use Jarvan.

yea....HoG has been nerfed to hell its basically useless now unless you plan to change it into a randuin's. Which is exactly why I recommend getting one because Randuin's Omen has great synergy with Golden Aegis and in teamfights the effects of both can render a team almost completely useless. it's almost like a AoE stun. I will prob take off the 2nd HoG since its pretty useless now. And about AD Jarvan, its doable but not optimal. The reason for that is all of Jarvan's abilities require him to be in the center of teamfights to be effective. He is basically a Xin Zhao, and a Xin Zhao without the tankiness is basically a useless Xin Zhao against any half-competent player.

AD Jarvan is better I think. I wonder why all everyone uses him as all Tanky DPS.

-You should have seen the patch preview. Riot will nerf Heart of Gold: no more armor, just health and gold. You'd better change the items before you get tons of downvotes, unless you think this still works with 54 less armor.

-Don't you think it is viable to build Jarvan as an AD character? His skills scale very well with AD.
