Admittedly, I will probably never develop into a high level 30 high ELO summoner in LoL. I have spent all kind of hours playing it in the last month, but I am not one of the most dedicated gamers that will really rise to the top. I started playing as Master Yi, and LOVED that I was getting so many kills. Then I went on to Veigar, the huge burst was kinda cool, but I always wandered into the fight too much and wound up dead quick. Thought I'd try out a tank, and really liked Shen, but the lack of damage output kinda got to me. Then I gave Nasus a go, and really had a lot of fun farming q and rocking late game, but I typically got really frustrated if I was denied early, and like any range champs could keep me from farming q. Finally, I played against an Alistar one game, and loved his little combo, so I've been playing him recently. It's the first character that I've ever felt like I can be aggressive early game! I've gotten a few first bloods too with pulverize and headbutt. Then I realized after that....he just kinda stands there.

So I have jumped from champ to champ, as you can see have played a lot of different roles. I KNOW there is no character that can do all sorts of these things, but I'm looking for that one champion I can join a team and contribute/carry and do WELL at all game. What I liked from my experiences:

Yi: That I could actually DO damage. Rocked people all day long.

Veigar: I actually did like trying to farm baleful strike, but I got killed really easily later. Nice burst damage, but probably my least fave of the champs I've tried.

Shen: Survivability. I HATE dying. With Shen, I definitely did it the least. The taunt was nice too for securing kills for my team.

Nasus: Probably best end-game champ I played. Loved farming q for the later payoff. Could do damage kinda like Yi after dropping spirit fire and q.

Alistar: Love the stun, headbutt combo. Healing and survivability are cool, but man, NO DAMAGE after that.

So I turn to you guys: Recommend that one champion that you don't think I'd get bored with! Thanks!!

Simple answer in my opinion is there is no '1' champion, keep trying them and find the ones you love, thats how your going to get good at LoL and enjoy it. :)

Chances are, you're not going to find that "perfect" champion. Level 30 here and still finding champions that I like and, come back to. Try to find some person you like that has a combination of two of the traits. Someone that immediately springs to mind is Dr. Mundo. Great survivability and he can still put out a nice amount of damage.
True love is found only in yourself.

Tanky DPS champions sounds like what you'll want. Renekton is the first champion I think of that can do all of that, but he got nerfed recently and the jury is still out on whether he is still good or he was overnerfed.

I know it's going to come off biased, but my 'true' champ is Nidalee.

I like being able to nuke enemy teams down. I like being able to capitalize on the enemy teams towers if I can get a lane quickly pushed. I like doing lots of bursts damage, while having a lot of skill needed to be played successfully.

Everyone has their own 'the one' champion. Perhaps you can give nidalee a try.
-Great Scout
-Good Nuke/Anti-Carry
-Can heal and speed up atk speeds
-Extremely mobile
-Very dominant in lane.

Honestly, if you love doing damage and being survivable, you would probably enjoy Xaioli's expanse of champions: Nid, Jax, Teemo.

Twitch, not very survivable if you don't have great positioning and teammates, but you are stealth, and you deal a **** ton of damage, and you seem like you might like someone stealthy to go in and get away from the scene of the crime.

TBH, Brand looks baws too. He seems like a nuke, much as Veigar is, with more survivability, and he is on fire. What more could you want?

Thanks to TRUeLM, Plastictree, Scrax, Xiaowiriamu, foggy12, JahGFX, jhoijhoi, msrobinson, JEFFY40HANDS, Nyoike, MissMaw, and me :) for the sigs!

Kass does dmg and can escape, but hes not good at taking dmg. Just food for thought, I can burst down Nid to under half in 3 spells before she gets off one, but its not for everyone because if Kass dies before lvl 6 you lose the lane.

About playing Veigar: I played some games with this guy too and I think he is really awesome when played well. The thing you need to do is get as much last hits with Baleful Strike (Q) as possible(use Dark Matter(E) for fast creep wave clears and jungle creeps).

Build some mana regeneration and a lot of AP along the way, don't forget to take Deathfire Grasp with you.

What you need to do late game to survive is to pop in (AT THE RIGHT TIME), and combo W-E-R-1 (optional DFG spot)-Q, and pop out the teamfight as fast as you can. Your task is to do as much damage as you can without dieing. When you popped out and have sufficient HP try to do you combo without the ultimate on an enemy with a little less HP.
Also use Clarity and Flash for your spells (or Teleport and Flash).

Besides this, I'm also trying to get better and in my opinion it is important to play all the champions in order to learn their abilities.
