the above list looks weird. Anivia, nocturne, annie, and vlad needs to be fed to carry? wtf. anivia is top tier nuke/mage, nocturne is like the best noobstomper i've every seen, if you make a mistake he WILL rape you, annie doesn't need a whole lot of items to do well, at level 6 she can still pwn you without little AP items, and vlad needs like 3 items to absolutely wtf pwn. >.>

Specifics now: Ezreal, Garen, Irelia, Katarina, Lux, Soraka, Tristana, Twitch
Out of all those, I see very very few of these champions in games that do well. But I believe (and have witnessed) that each of these champions can completely turn a game around, if not completely carry it. They all need work and generally a good team (or fail enemy team) to work out well. They are also people that can get fed, but still let that go to waste, making almost no difference in the game.
Everyone on the other list are usually people that are really really hard to fail with, especially if they get fed.

How is trist not viable. She has a great kit with a knockback, a slow, best range in the game, a great escape mechanism, and has massive AS by default. Just saying.
Booshido does not like your EZ comment either I suppose. Though EZ probably isnt the best by a long shot. The others I would agree with though.

I personally love Ezreal and use him quite well. He is just by far not one of the easiest champions to learn, with the skill shots and all.
And about Tristana, yes she has excellent range and attack speed (both equally credited to Kog'Maw). The thing I see most with her though, is that most people use her to farm and push more, often wasting the awesome gtfo tactic and aren't ready for ganks. Aside from that, I think Trist is great.
Another thing I must add, it's a little bit harder for squishies to carry a team than it is those off-tanks and beefy dps.
