Guide Suggestion: Versatile Rune Pages

Every guide for every champion on this website features runes specific to that champion. But what if, rather than wanting to specialize absolutely in two champions, you'd rather be able to play six champions and be able to offer all of them something with one of your rune pages?

Thus we come to my suggestion for a guide covering how to construct versatile rune pages, because frankly, unless you've been playing the game for a loooooong time, getting specialized rune pages for every champion is a bit impractical.

I know Searz's guide offers a small section for this kind of thing, but I think a more detailed guide would be helpful, covering which runes are good for the most champions, which runes should go in which page, how to adapt a page that's specialized for one champion*, etc.

Now, the reason this is a suggestion. I am still working on finishing out my second rune page. I know a bit of Theorycrafting, but do not have the expertise to really make this happen and make it good.

At any rate, tell me what you guys think.

((*Here's an example of what I mean. My favorite champion is Katarina, so I optimized my first rune page for her. Now, nothing in yellow really screams "pick me" for Katarina, so normally one would go with health per level. But I also like to play Jax in 3s. So instead, I put dodge for yellow in that rune page so that it's equally good for Jax.))

Personal habitual activites? Utilizing gargantuan idioms to fabricate intelligence.

I think dodge works pretty well for Katarina. Maybe HP regen/level or HP/level. As you play more, you will find more roles that require completely different runes. Don't be afraid to start other rune pages, just try to make sure you are still gonna use the runes.

Mentioned this guide. :-P

Nah, I don't need the help. I just figured it's something a lot of people are confused on when they first hit Tier 3.

Yeah, I noticed. :P
Health is just popular for whenever you don't really know what else to put.

Marks are always easy to place. They have excellent pentration of all kinds.
Seals are best when it comes to health (and regen), mana regen, attack speed, and dodge. They tend to benefit AD champs more.
Glyphs are great with CDR (woo!) and more AP based beneficial.
Quints are literally quite grand with everything. You basically have your choice of whatever you want to buff.

I do agree that a little more detail could be helpful.

The thing you're suggesting is best learned through experience.

Runes are expensive, and take a long time to acquire.
This is a good thing, as it gives players time to decide what they wish to buy.

Runes are also dependent on playing style.
Preferences on how to play generally divert people towards certain runes over others.

In my opinion, such a guide would get good ratings, but would seriously distort the true nature of runes, which I think is a horrible prospect that doesn't deserve any attention.

That's my 2 cents.
