I personally like Cait since even with the lack of CC.She has a longer range to harass.Her Peacemaker goes through the minions and still hits champs unlike ashes volley.
Ashes ult is pretty good but has it flaws.You could miss with it or hit and win.Cait ult just lets you auto kill a weaklings unless blocked or to far in reach.
I still love cait more as she has more dmg to push lanes :3

I feel that in teamfights, Ashe is superior with her stunning arrow and CC slows. Her CV also reveals any stealth.
But Caitlyn laning is superior with better range, passive, and traps. Plus her ulti punishes anyone who takes just a bit too much damage.
Piltover Peacemaker also farms mad fast.

I play both. Caitlyn is amazing at laning, but Ashe is too good in teamfights. Honestly, Ashe is more useful than caitlyn in a game of equal skill, although when the balance is in your favor Caitlyn will be so fed so fast that you won't have to do anything but let her carry you.
