What he is saying reminds me alot of Halo 2. When the button glitches were discovered in that game every1 cried for changes and that the game was broken, but the competitive community just built on it and learned to master them and abuse them.
It gave the consloe shooter something esle to master then just point and shoot. Its what also cemented Halo into the competitive scene.
Anyways great read, and from an experienced HoN player, Denying really adds more to the laning phase then just farm.

I really liked denying in DotA and will love it in DOTA2, and it's an important part of the game, but in LoL I'd rather not have it. I prefer a game that lacks denying, because it's more casual and doesn't put as much strain on me. Including denying will make early game much more tiring and annoying since it requires me to put a lot more effort, and I'm playing LoL for fun.
They're different games, let's keep them different.

It's too true. I've known Nome a bit on a personal level and had no idea he felt that way. I feel so silly for forgetting about EotA as well. I remember messing around on that map a bit a long time ago. It's really cool, but hard to get a good game.
Honestly, I think the big problem with no denying is that as he said, gold farming (PvE) is still the 100% most important aspect of early and mid game. So, removing denying didn't really achieve the goal specified by Riot's design team back in beta.

Hopefully, someday, they'll make a new mechanic that's both innovative and interesting.

New Consumable item - WormHoles - Costs 500 gold.
Can be used twice. First use establishes Point-A, second use establishes point B. Worm Holes must be within 1500 range of each other.
Lasts 10 minutes. Worm holes are stealthed against enemies, and cannot be damaged.
This just in. Don't push your lane, the enemy could barge in from portal behind you! o3o
-Could also make it so enemies can "accidently" walk through it, allowing the possibility for traps.
-Skill shots can travel through portals (pot shots!)

-Could place two portals side by side, so a path becomes impassible. Walk forward, end up behind yourself.

I thought this thread was just going to be another why can't we deny QQ thread. He has some good ideas and i feel denying would make this game that much more competitive. I'm all for it, good find PotatisFarfar
