i like how they have completely pushed this because of the influx of non-esl gaming communities hosting tournaments
like a few weeks ago they had mentioned that they were ironing out a lot of current bugs them going to rework the way it was handled

He may be dead but he's still OP
Ehhh, not so sure to be honest. What'll be amazing is live replays like you can do on Garena. That is what I want to see in this genre more. HoN doesn't have it and neither does LoL. As I've said a bazillion times at this point, I hate stream cameramen (Honcast comes to mind the most but the others are just as bad) because I always sit there going "what items does so-and-so have?" and I've had to wait half an hour so many times just to see someone's items and while plenty of games do go over half an hour I wanna be able to check this stuff myself and live replays a la Garena is the only way to see the game live and to be able to look at what you want.
I know that in athletic sports it doesn't work that way. You have to look at whatever the cameras show you. No big deal they're using several cameras so you rarely miss action. This is eSports though. Time for the term "spectator sport" to take on a new meaning.
EDIT: Thanks, JunSupport, for bringing this news to Mobafire! :)

Not really.. One thing is to let people join before the game starts as spectator. Another is to be able to watch the game as spectator.
I want to join the Game in the middle of the match and be able to watch it as I please. I don't want to have a spectator stream the game like in most games and have to watch it through him. There's a really big difference between the two.

that's stupid though
what stops people joining and telling people on vent whats happening?
does that mean they need to delay the spectator mode? if so, that ****s up the people who originally joined and are part of the game, and would cause stupid bugs to occur (lol game ends and they cant leave game for 3 mins cause of delay)

Wow, nice contradiction Jet. You're awesome really.
First you say that DocSmooth described the spectator mode when he said he wanted a live replay, letting him move the camera and select what he wants.
Now you say that that's not spectator mode and that it would fck up the game.
At least try to be consistent, it's not that hard.
And I fail to see why it would fck the game up. Like DocSmooth said, live replays would bring no harm. How the hell would it cause stupid bugs to occur? Do you think it would be programmed by a monkey? If so then any kind of spectator mode would have bugs.

Pretty exciting stuff eh? We're going to be releasing a video later this week talking about what we're showing at e3 in more detail, but I wanted to take a moment to give everyone some information to answer a few questions that will be raised by this.
Spectator mode is in the final stages in it's development. In fact, we're going to be using spectator mode for all our streaming efforts at Dreamhack. Unfortunately we don't have a release date to share with you just yet, but we've made some significant strides in the development of this system over the last couple of months, and we're really excited about how it's shaping up.
Stay tuned for the video that we'll be releasing later this week.

Spectator mode looks amazing. All scores, items, and summoner spells displayed with a totally different interface.
