AP Soraka will always better at healing. her heals are based on her AP so basic math can prove that easily enough..."Better" is subjective anyways.

Yeah, you just like AP Soraka more that why she's better 'better'. That's all there is to it.

AP Soraka
+ stronger heals
+ damage output
- less farm for your carry who won't be able to carry as well as he prbly could
- less gold can be spend on wards and oracles
- less time can be spend to place/destroy wards
- less survivability > less reliable

Support Soraka
+ more gold can be spend on wards and oracles
+ more time can be spend to place/destroy wards
+ more farm for your carry who will be able to carry better
+ more survivability > more reliable
- weaker heals
- damage output

I don't know but I think the only advantage is that AP Soraka heals stronger, but looses on all other aspects there is to support her team (besides damage output but who would pick Soraka for magic damage?). But if you think Map control isn't more important then I don't know, maybe you're just doing it wrong.

Your lack of League of Legends knowledge confuses me... ;-P

I like how this whole thing got turned into a personal attack over the original comment of.
Why dont people add AP to Soraka.

Yet over the past 11 pages people are syaing that Bard is wrong and dumb....and yet agreeing with her original comment about putting in some AP to help boost heals.

Idiots amaze me.

Again, you are not paying attention to the original topic. Not once was there anything said about not having map control.
The only thing that was said is that her heals go off AP, why do people NOT buy a little bit of AP?
That is a valid reason and is also true, as if you would actually read the entire topic most top played Soraka's buy atleast Deathcap for the AP boost. Is that loosing out on Map control? No not at all, its actually making you a better support. You are not losing out on map control ability at all. Wards are what..75g? Please..get the **** out of here if you cant afford to throw away 75g on a ward.

My opinion: (0 is neutral)
AP Soraka-
+ Better heals/Doesn't need to spam healing to keep allies in combat
+ Build is strong throughout the game
0 Better damage (largely unimportant)
0 similar survivability (if built well)
0 gives farm to carry
0 similar gold spent on getting/destroying wards
- Has few auras
- Build is more expensive

Support Soraka-
+ Generally has multiple auras
+ Build is cheaper
0 worse damage
0 generally squishy early game
0 gives farm to carry
0 similar gold spent on getting/destroying wards
- Significantly worse heals/ has to spam healing to keep allies in combat
- Build effectiveness tapers off mid- to end-game because it is mostly early game items

(Look I came up with equal +/- for both, omg!)

Your obvious bias is, well...obvious

Archangel Staff, a Rod of Ages, and a needlessly large rod + CDR Boots
1050+3035+1600+2855 = 8540
24% CDR

If you're able to get these alongside of buying and finding the time placing/destroying wards without farming, you made my day. I suggest to get AP/lvl Runes for all slots. This and a Deathcap is more than enough AP for my taste. Why go for even more AP?

CDR Boots, Shurelyas, Deathcap
1050+2200+3600 = 6850 > ~1700 for Wards/Oracles
39% CDR

There you go, maybe reading the words colored in crayon will help you.
The orginal comment was that a little bit of AP was needed for her. The rest of the stuff that was said was to other ideas and mixtures of things, but you didnt read it all to fully understand and just assumed.

Notice how you agree with her original topic....

Time for some math:
A mostly AP build that has ~430 AP-
, , , or , ,
Damage healed with Astral Blessing: 687
Damage healed with Wish: 999 (weird number)

A deathcap-only build that has ~200 AP-
, , , ,sight ward X as many as you need,
Damage healed with Astral blessing: 480
Damage healed with Wish: 700

No I don't agree with her topic I just wouldn't go for RoA, Needlessly Large Rod and Archangels all together at all. + I explained why. Where's your problem?

With a predominantly AP build I can heal over 1100 damage with wish and nearly 800 damage with Astral Blessing. I'm not saying she needs it to be useful, I'm just wondering why no one seems to care about the immense healing power of an AP Soraka.

Point still stands.
