Line knockup, Shield that increases damage, a slow, and an ult that resets the teamfight by knocking enemies out of position, it also heals. Only champion that can block damage to a tower without a summoner spell. Clairvoyance & Flash. Janna is a CC bot, doesn't matter how you build her, just your presence will make a difference.

Taric for an agressive duo lane
Janna for a lane with an AD champion, GREAT for countering a AoE comp
Soraka good for any duo lane
Sona good for any duo lane, great for an AoE team-comp
Karma UP beaten out by other champions right now
My favorite? Sona w/ Clairvoyance & Flash (sometimes Teleport & Flash if don't need Clairvoyance)

Janna is the best but not the best at supporting in lane. She is the best overall for the team though!
I think Sona supports range carries early game in the lane the best with her damage and heals :)

Support is always game enemy team comp situational
Taric- great early game stun, good heal, +tank skill makes for great early game teams falls off late game
Soraka consistent the whole game, great against those burst teams with ult.
Sona great for when you run WW tank, with AoE with good heal fits really well in CC lacking team
Janna not the best babysitter real bad early game against enemy with babysit lane.
Karma almost as bad as the new eve

Say wich champion do you prefer, why, the summoner spells and the build (focus ap for more heal or auras?)
