Now, this build is even more viable after his Q change(buff is u ask me).
Now ap adds on his percent dmg(16%), so its alike this...
275(+1 per ap) or 16%(+1 per ap)
ur ap is 100
prey have 2k hp
base dmg is 275
percent dmg is 320
320 > 275
so 320 + 100 = 420
% is better than flat after 1,7k hp
bonus ap viable anyway
so have fun!

Respect! Love builds that are "outside the closed minded individuals 'box!'"

good build inspired me to play Mgaewick ;) I win about 95% of my games when i use Warwick with magewick build, but I gots a question Archangel staff seems a bit costly to get a bit early one, but wouldn't it be better to get DFG first and for survivablity getting Rylai's crystal scepter after then to rabadon's deathcap. This is what I normally have been using and my damage output is huge once I get DFG since it would be -30% current health(+3.5 for every 100 ap) + -20%(+ap). It true that Archangel's staff is good for some extra ap and mana but it won't build up too its full potential but then again you have 2 archangel staffs so i could be wrong.

i currently get Doran's ring>Sorc Boots>DFG>Rylai's Crystal Scepter>Rabadon Deathcap>Void Staff but idk let you judge since your the master Magewick ;)

Edit:dang just tried this build in 3 games and i ended up as the mvp on the team this build is pro.

Pretty good guide, has some powerful potential for sure, kind of wish you discussed your summoner spell choices. Not sure I would go with cv since he doesn't really synergize with it, and doesn't have any escape ability's to make up for how squishy he is.

I love the guide. I think I'm going to try it out later tonight. One suggestion would probably be to separate the 3 different builds into 3 different "team mates" in a team build. I was completely confused by the item order until the end of the item description section haha

I have registered a MobaFire account just so I can comment on this excellent build. It’s an interesting setup, and I enjoy it for the same reasons I enjoy ability power for Master Yi: the massive power increase of the Q skill. This guide is also one of the most well-written I’ve ever seen on MobaFire - kudos.

I have more than 20 champs and I started playing Warwick late last night. I found almost immediate success in 3x3 games with this build. However, in every game other players have either asked me about the AP build, or harassed me for it. I even got harassed when I had the best scores of all the six players. The frequent “WTF?! AP WW NOOB fail” et cetera are very annoying in the long run, especially when you’re dominating the game.

For this reason, I might use a more traditional build for Warwick. Or just ignore the immature, hostile and feisty frakkers that populate LoL :)

Anyway, great job with the build guide!

It's because it's unorthodox, and people see Hungering Strike at rank 5 dealing 20% of enemy health and go "SO WHY DO THIS?" They miss the point and unfortunately, I don't think any amount of explaining will help them.

It's similar to Lane Udyr. People go "you gotta push the lane for it to be good," blatantly not understanding how to do it properly. Then again, Lanewick in general and even AP Gragas were at their own times considered troll builds by a largely rigid minded community.

My advice is: play what works. Ignore scrubs that yell at you otherwise.

Hail Strom and be well; I am a veteran disciple (i had converted into scores of different faiths through my life and always i seek more) and i recognized power in your guide; being a pair of years adherent of Warwick, i decided to experience this new aspect of WW the Vladimir Slayer. On my first game, i LoLfailed; on second failed miserably. But on third i had adjusted and slew many a scrubs by waving hairy arm at them, not dying even once. Here i come to bear my greetings, acknowledgement and some advice on flaws that hamper the full power of MAGEWICK Unleashed.

Clairvoyanceh is of little use to him in my view, as he is not a hunter but a Mageslayer. Thus, Flash assists him more and protects him from the mighty brutes like Jarvan while he is weak; any 'alive' young mage knows that the first skill he must perfect is how to RUN; the teachings of NOX do tell us so.

Magewick cares not for gathering archaic knowledge or dabbling into sourcery; the weakilngs whom he devours do. But his Strength of Spirit is imperceivable; he shrugs off feeble poisons and chaos curses as these are but a pale shade upon His Will. And he is Shielded from their petty cantrips.
Thus, i conclude. Accept my reformation and revel in Power of the Magewick Unleashed.

Interesting take, and I always encourage players to go with what works for them, not adhering to a guide 100%. That's not what a guide's for, after all, it's to guide you down a mindset.

I take Clairvoyance and likely will continue to until its eventual nerf, in which case Flash will take its place. I understand the badassery of Flash and Ghost both, but Clairvoyance combined with Blood Scent gives you a large amount of utility; that is, Clairvoyance when you can go 21 down Utility is never a bad choice, because it's such low CD map control. Why escape what I already know exists? Why not hunt who I know cannot be saved? Meanwhile, Flash will only save my teammates the occasional time I can Flash Ult someone; Clairvoyance will save especially my solo queue brethren a million times over.

I do admit Archaic Knowledge isn't too strong on him now, especially with shields no longer affecting his heal; used to be, you had to factor in MR on top of the shield value and it was a real pain so every bit of M. pen counted, now hitting that ***hat with (Insert Shield Mechanic Here) doesn't need to worry so much. However, it certainly isn't bad either, and arguably will help him more later in the game than Strength of Spirit will.

Sorcery's badass for lane phase where every fraction of a second off your Q is the difference between an easy and horrendous lane. So I'm torn here a little, although you may see the point from Archaic go elsewhere.

Alas, ye have found a Magewick true. But MAGEWICK ULTIMATE is coming.

So...do you think you could utilize Mobafire's multiple-build function instead of putting all three item builds into one?

They put that in after I wrote the current version of the build. You'd be fine if you read the guide. I recommend doing that.

If I could de-rep someone for being a sheep..

Regardless, with the recent patch (Warwick's Hungering Strike only healing for 80% of damage dealt, Deathcap flat AP nerf by 15 + slightly more with the 30% taken into account), and Morello taking 9 years to implement the selfish spell-vamp item, this guide will need more updating.

This change actually makes Magewick a stronger pick than he was before versus other Lanewick builds, but obviously not at a good price. However, that just means I need to make Magewick stronger than ever..

Expect a newly written Magewick and Shankplank the Gangster Pirate guide soon as I get the vibe to write them.
