I wrote up a guide for Amumu fairly recently and I was wondering if I could get some feedback on it.

I want to know what you guys think of my item build, and overall approach to playing Amumu. I have seen some people play him as a jungler and ganker... and though I can see why people would I think playing him as I do is advantageous and would appreciate if you guys could give me your opinions.

1. Why are you getting mana glyphs? They're not very good and you won't need them once you get Philo Stone. Flat or scaling magic resist glyphs are much stronger.

2. Why are you getting more points in Bandage Toss? The AP can be nice but the DPS and damage reduction from Tantrum as well as Despair DPS is stronger. Bandage Toss also eats up your mana.

3. Why Boots of Swiftness over Ninja Tabi or Ionian Boots of Lucidity? Sure, he's slow, but you can fix that with a combination of movespeed quints, movement speed items, and Ghost. You already plan to get a FoN and you have Ghost. With that I would always get Tabi or CDR boots. In addition, if you spec into Nimbleness, Ninja Tabi and a dodge proc actually makes you significantly FASTER than Boots of Swiftness would.

4. Warmog's Armor is a weak item to buy given your build. You reach just above 100 armor and magic resist. At those low resistances, buying a Warmog's gives you less effective health than buying more armor or MR would.

5. Deathcap? People have a misconception that Amumu deals a ton of damage in fights, and this is only partially true. He deals a lot of damage if left unchecked. That's why you CAN definitely build AP, but you need to build defensively at the same time, which is why Rylai's Crystal Scepter, Abyssal Scepter, and Zhonya's Hourglass are MUCH stronger "offensive" options.

6. Of all the items you could buy after selling Eleisa's Miracle, why Archangel's Staff? It requires a huge amount of early game spam after buying an early Tear. If you START building AA as your sixth item, it'll never get charged in time. In addition, you're not adding anything to your resistances. Buy a tanky AP item like the ones mentioned above. And why even sell Eleisa's Miracle? You need the Tenacity or else you'll just be chain-CCed in a fight and never even get your ult off.

7. What are you going for with your skill order? What is the purpose behind getting 2 points in Despair at levels 7 and 8? Why get another point in Bandage Toss at level 10? When you build a champion, you need to have purpose behind it. Erratic skill orders should ONLY be used when trying to meet a certain goal - for example, on Veigar, people will sometimes skill Baleful Strike to rank 2 or 3 in order to make last hitting with it easier, then immediately switch to maxing something else.
