I'd say Leap Strike, one in Counter, then Empower. Then juggle Leap Strike and Empower.

Relentless Assault>Empower>Leap Strike>Counter Strike
Get one level of Leap Strike and one level of counter strike by level 3

Sounds solid
Thats what I had settled on myself
It is awkward to find a way to buff Jax just once more so he has a slow Without making him near invincible

If you want a slow I recommend getting a Bilgewater Cutlass. You can also later build it into a Hextech Gunblade which will be very helpful.

Doran's Shield/Health Potion
Ninja Tabi
Guinsoo's Rageblade
Bilgewater Cutlass
Hextech Gunblade
Banshee's Veil
Malady
Haikus are easy

Jax is easy to use and I simply got bored of him. Either way this is how I build Jax..

Lvl 1. Leap Strike
Lvl 2. Empower
Lvl 3. Counter Strike
After -> MAX Empower, MAX Leap Strike, MAX Counter Strike
Relentless ***ualt at Lvl 6, 11, 16

Item Build:
Ninja Tabi
The Brutalizer
Guinsoo's Rageblade
Infinity Edge
Banshee's Veil
Youmuu's Ghostblade
Randiun's Omen

But honestly, Jax is one of the worst champions in 5v5 gameplay. He works in 3's sure, but he just doesn't provide anything to a team that other champions can. I only really played him well on smurf accounts or in 3v3s.

Summary of Jax: Good for pub-stomping low elo matches, nothing else.

Diesel could you give an example of how you made a team around Jax
Because my friends were thinking about a late game team with Jax and Warwick where we would deliberately wear the game out so we could suddenly push insanely hard late game

Lots of Stun and CC to let him do as he pleases. The problem with Jax is the same with every Melee Carry: CC. If you make the enemies do nothing and keep them in check, Jax will be able to shine.

Yeah, but I prefer Bilgewater Cutlass because it helps Jax more. It gives Damage and lifesteal, instead of just Health.
