We should've started with an artistic theme, not with a gameplay theme.

My thoughts on CAC1...

-Too convoluted, multiple quote posts that were meant to point us in the right direction. But actually just ended up losing me. And were overall to technical to actually sound good in my head.
-Calling it CAC1...Completely vauge imo unless you knew what it meant. Just sounded bad...
-Design flow should follow Appearance/Story/Name/Kit. Or that's how my brain works. (IDK if this was the route taken I may have come in late)
-Keep it simple, design BASIC concepts for abilities then build up, like AoE/Single Target/Steroid/Disable/Team buff. Rather than making it so technical from the start. I'd prefer to have read this:

Q (AoE Ability): Deals X damage and has Y additonal affect
W (Single Target Harass): Deals X damage
E (Steroid): Buffs champs X stat by Y amount for Z seconds
R (AoE Ability): Does X damage to targets in range and targets take Y status debuff for Z seconds.

Rather than the wall of text each ability had for CAC1.

EXTREMELY SIMPLE and easy to comprehend for someone just poking in to see what's going on.

-Original champ concept was...Doing too much, way too many disables, way too much everything. KEEP IT ****ING SIMPLE. A disabler has ~1-2 disables. One is often on hit, the other is cast...We don't need 4 abilities with 5 effects each. Becomes way to hard to balance and way too stupid/stupid OP IMO.

-Overall I just didn't like the concept. And that's why, although I participated it became WAY too much to actually try to imagine for me to take it seriously. The kit didn't mesh either because all the CC just overwrote each other. Oh hey I silence you now, and slow you, and stun you and poison you....For the kit to mesh 2 abilities need to compliment each other. A silence and a DoT ;a Slow and a DoT ;a Stun and a Slow. THOSE mesh, don't bastardize them.

TL;DR:
-Don't call it CAC# EVER AGAIN
-KEEP IT REALLY SIMPLE
-KEEP IT REALLY SIMPLE
-After you have the look, build the story, then the name, then the kit.
-Disablers DONT have 15 disables spread across 4 buttons. 2 disables that compliment each other. Anything more and it becomes unbalanced (KEEP IT SIMPLE)
-Once we have the basics (this goes for every part) we can build up. First try with CAC1 tried to do too much, like going from A to Z in one step for each piece of the champ...You can't build a strong house without a sturdy foundation, same goes for a champion.
-We can be innovative but getting WHAT we want the ability to do (AoE dmg/single target harass etc) down first is more important than HOW we want it to play/sound/whatever. (So and so fires a bolt of electricity at the target dealing BLAH BLAH BLAH)....

I've never seen a crowdsourced champion before, it's an idea that might work in a perfect situation but there are so many variables and so much time for things to go wrong.

Perhaps the next CAC should take a similar shape to Complete The Hero from the PlayDota.com forums. In that there's a Host who creates the challenge and bonus challenges (create a champion that uses the Heat mechanic, bonus 10 points for making Yoummu's Ghostblade a core item, and explain why!), then participants have a 2 week period to submit their entries. At the end, a few judges mark them all (based on a rigid criteria) and the winner is chosen.

Here's my thoughts. I tried to get in, but was utterly lost. if we do it like jeffy said mostly, we'd do better. if we had an name+art competition, that would be a great start. Then we could build a story behind them, merging and voting on stories. then the idea for the skills. Then, we could move on (if ever) to the Actual numbers. my suggestion of how to do this is to have either general/humorous guides, that could be voted on. we could have the participants archive them once the competition for that section was done. that way, there could be voting for those.

please +rep if i've been helpful at all, and come check out my guides!
