NEW STUFF INCOMING:
1.9 pre 3 is out. apparently they're not going to do a 1.9 and a 1.10 but just make one big 1.9.
new breeding rules:
breeding animals now has a cooldown of sorts between the animals that breeded, so you can't spam breed. another thing is new baby animals, which are just tiny versions with higher pitched noises. there will also be baby spiders. screen of baby animals:
ENCHANTING AND POTIONS:
originally xp was to be used for skills, but skills were moved to potions. instead, gaining levels will be spent at an enchanting table to make your weapons and armor more powerful. theres 3 spells for each item but unfortunately notch won't say what the spells do, you'll just have to experiment or wait until people identify what they are. enchanted items glow.

POTIONS:
originally to use cauldrons (which are kept in game to store water, a solid bucket. can also hold water in the nether) potions are crafted with a brewing stand. a brewing stand is a single blaze rod above a row of 3 cobble. you must also craft bottles, which are 3 glass blocks shaped like a bucket or bowl.
first you must put water in the bottle (3 bottles hold one water block) and then put them in the brewing stand. then use the main potion ingredient. there are 4 main ingredients, regular, extra duration, extra power, or negative effects. then you must combine the base potion with another ingredient to make the full potion.

this one is big. first off we have a new item called the eye of ender. a semi worthless item crafted from ender pearl and blaze powder. but it does have one use, to fix ender portals!
ender portals can not be crafted, they spawn in strongholds. and lastly, we have a look at the ender.. wait.. no wait what is that thing???

no idea. we don't even have a texture yet just the model. considering they are enderdragons (dunno if there will be regular dragons yet, but ender ones confirmed) i'd say they would be black or something.
also i assume dragons would drop dragon scales which could be used for potion of flight hurr durr
