I've actually had that same problem before except it was with a different chat room. I know you probably aren't going to be happy with my solution but I did everything I could to fix it and it would never go away. It eventually disappeared on its own (I want to say that it was after the next patch but I could be wrong).
I'd say deal with it until after the next patch, at which point if it isn't gone then contacting Riot about it might be better. At least they'll let you know that it will be fixed 'Soon™'.

Lol, I only have like ~300 wins. I just went on a decent win streak and was saving up for a couple champions. Bought Zilean and Morgana today.

Other people don't seem to have this issue. I close it down every time I login, and a new window opens when I'm queued for a match like it should. I'm pretty sure if I don't close it, I'll have 2 Arranged Team Chats while queueing for a game. I'll have to test this today at some point.

This has been happening for a while. Every time I log into LoL, this empty chat room pops up. I can just close it, but it's annoying to have to do so every single time. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how to get it to stop appearing when I login. No one else I know has had this problem.

P.S. The "Autojoin on Startup" box is un-checked. I've tried it both ways and it doesn't stop it.
