My favorite champion does not necessarily equate to the one I want to write a guide for most.
Who I want to write a guide on is uncertain, and it's not something I can derive out of numbers or logic. That's why I ask for a second/third/fifteenth opinion.
Heimerdinger wasn't even close to winning either, and I'm not one to rank all the champions. I have one favorite, the end.
I don't really have a preference out of the three either; they're all really fun and I lack the time to figure it out.
If I had the freedom to, I wouldn't have bothered with the first poll. :P

For what it's worth, as I said in the opening post, I don't write a guide overnight.
It'll be at least a month (maybe three) before the guide actually gets released. Any hype you perceive will be gone by then.

Can't you just write one on the champ you've been playing for the longest?
Seems like it would be easiest because every good thing about them is ingrained in your head along with what to build and their counters, weaknesses, etc.
