Backwards compatibility was mainly referring to the fact that guides that haven't updated to the new masteries yet, will still show the old masteries.
The bbcode is only backwards compatible in that, if you try to link a mastery that does not exist in season 2 but did exist in season 1, it will then show the season 1 version. If it exists in both seasons, it will always show the season 2 version.
I didn't really expect anyone to specifically need the season 1 version. If you guys do need that, I could do something I've been considering doing for a while which is, set up aliases for these shortcuts, such as [[Sorcery (Season 1)]].
I could also then set up some aliases for commonly misspelled things, or to make it easier to differentiate between abilities that have the same name as a mastery or summoner spell.
I'll give it some thought!

I'm trying to write a guide for Season 2 Masteries. I need to refer to the differences between the old, and the new. Rather than having to explain what the old ones did, I would find it much easier to simply link the old ones in.
Thanks.
