This guide was really helpful.
I'm still a newbie (been playing for about two weeks now) but I have this thing where I always go for the hardest character in every videogame, so I chose Orianna. I read some other guides, which have also been very informative, but yours is the most carefully thought. The other guides don't have Orianna with such a high sustainability, which is my favorite part about her. I already master her to a point where I understand everything in your guide and thanks. I haven't lost a game since I learned how to use her (about 7 straight wins) and I am eager to play some more with your tips.
I love playing Ori, probably one of the first champions that I fell in love with when I started playing. (Balls are fun to play with!)
Abilities:
- I tend to max out W first for dmg + MS, while using Q to position.
-- Lvl 1 W's dmg is poor: 70 mana cost for 70 base dmg and 9s CD.
- Laning: if I'm getting ganked a lot or being out-traded, I get a couple points in E instead of Q for the additional armour and shield value.
- Generally I appreciate E a lot more than Q:
-- The base dmg on Q = base dmg on E
-- Although Q scales better with AP than E, E can do just as much to a specific target since Q's dmg decreases with every enemy hit, so instead of the +50% AP, the dmg can get reduced by 60% to +20% AP. Mainly affected by a minion wave.
--- In lane, I can use E to farm more safely (Q to position + dmg => W dmg => E dmg + shield from enemy).
-- Downsides: mana costs 10 more than Q, longer CDR
Items:
- I'd like to hear your thoughts about an Archangel's Staff/Seraph's Embrace. I guess late game the mana/AP drops off. (I tend to spam skills, so I use more mana from maxing W.)
- Thoughts on Liandry's Torment? Some health, MP, some AP and passive has good synergy with W.
- Lich Bane isn't one of my go-to items. I'll give it a try.
- Occasionally I go for Rylai's Crystal Scepter for Health + AP, but with your guide WotA and Zhonya's should be as effective.
- Adding boot enhancements would make the guide more complete
1 thing though, at the pro's and cons you got terrific farmer etc. at the pro's. Note that terrific means terrible so thats a bad thing.
