You kill them before getting 8 stacks?? O.O Well, if your team is focusing wisely I suppose that's possible. Personally I find it quite useful. The trick is to try to keep it stacked up on minions or turrets. I want the extra attack speed for the ulti (the AP will also boost the ulti) :/ Guess it's up to taste :P
My reasoning: If you go Atma's the armor from frozen heart feels a bit overkill, but we do need the CDR from frozen heart.

Please try with Atma's instead of Guinsoo's and tell me how it went :) Don't have time to test these "alternative items" myself right now.

I played this guide for about 2 hours am im not really happy with Guinsoos Rageblade :( even in teamfights it doesnt stack up to 8 . I prefer Atmas Impaler or any other AS item .

Great Build tho :)

I don't see how full AP would work either :P What I really want in these two builds is to focus health to increase Frenzy and passive, but as you say, the second build is kind of absurd, but I'm taking more of an "Dr. Mundo" approach. But without tenacity, armor and magic resist I also see the problems that might occur (that's why I have the tanky build as a main). Frenzy: One fuly stacked Warmogs provides 274 extra damage. With two Warmogs you might have around 4k HP, one third of that is ~1200 HP. That's what you will regenerate when reaching 1200 HP. That's basicly how I'm reasoning :P

About the runes, I did mention in the "runes" part that cooldown reduction runes is a good option :) Will probably change entirely to that. But I'm worrying about the mana regeneration :/ I tend to go OOM a lot.
Health runes :/ 171 extra health at lvl 18 or ~7% extra attack speed all game. I suppose it's just a "taste" thing, but 171 health doesn't sound much to me while 7% attack speed adds up nicely with the rest of the runes.

Thank you for your feedback! :)

EDIT: forgot about spirit visage: 1200*1,15 = 1380.

EDIT: realized that the percentage bonus from Spirit Visage isn't so high. (At maximum 250 HP.) So I looked up other magic resist items and met hexdrinker (unusual item) but with its passive it might be usefull (gain shield from magic damage if going below 30% HP)

This build doesn't look promising to me at all, my theorycrafting/testing has shown me full on AP Volibear isn't the way to go, but your 1st build might work with the tankiness, the 2nd build is absurd.

I don't want to leave this comment without offering some advice: So with that said, drop Seals of Alacrity and throw in Seals of Vitality, also Glyphs of Replenishment are unnecessary, get Glyphs of Focus.

Standard Volibear Runes: 3 Greater Quints of Alacrity, 9 Greater Marks of Alacrity, 9 Greater Seals of Vitality, 9 Greater Glyphs of Focus. (Use these and you'll be on the right track). ^_^

I prefer to refrain from atma's impaler. I was planning to use it at first tough. But since none of his skills stack with AD I wouldn't want to give away a slot for it :/ but should add it as an alternative item. Just don't know what I would let go of to get tat atma's :P

EDIT: the only item I could think to get rid of for Atma's is guinsoo's rageblade. But I truly think that the extra AP, AD and attack speed from guinsoo's is better then :/

Should add Atmas to the list since the combination of Warmogs and Atmas is crazy good on Tanky DPS, Especially on Volibear.

You sure? o: If so, thanks, will change those parts then. Still wouldn't bother with ghost (to chase enemies that is) :)

EDIT: yup, sorry for misunderstanding the skill.

Rolling Thunder only gives you the monement speed if your running towards an enemy champion, so using it to move around the map doesn't work. Very nice guide thought and I will defently try a few games with this build. :)

It's a quite basic build, almost like recommended. Do take a note that another Warmog's armor can be even more useful than frozen heart as end item :)

Thanks in advance :)
