I never liked it much on Lux because I build her glass cannon and try to stay at as long a range as possible.
I play glass cannon too, it works because of the movement speed and magic res :)

My rule of thumb with Lichbane tailors with Trinity Force. Both are meant for hybrid characters, IMO, but if I want a bigger AP bump and the Sheen proc I go LB, and if I want more balance and the Phage proc I go Trinity.

I consider Lich to be core on Akali as a 2nd or 3rd complete item.
I haven't played Sion or Morde enough to know for sure, but I do know Guardsman builds Lichbane 2nd after Rabadons on Sion.
