Sure, PNG rocks, but when uploading to sites that have automatic resizing or compression you should make it a JPG instead. I think there's a threshold which when passed makes it auto-convert to save space. I think it's at around 1MB.
Making it smaller in size makes Photobucket (for example) not resize the **** out of my pics.
