My comment is not dumb, nor is it uninformed. I've been following SOPA for a lot longer than since Riot has made a topic about it, and I know what's going to happen from this. If you look at similar strategies tried by the MPAA, RIAA, et al in the past, you'll see similar wishes in them (arbitrarily shutting down websites, pulling content, etc.). See what Universal did with the MegaUpload song on Youtube. SOPA is not going to end well for common Internet citizens.
Also, the Supreme Court has been siding with major corporations for years now. Don't expect any relief from them.
Just because you've been following SOPA since October does not make you more informed than the common idiot that just found out about whenever Riot posted their stance. You have no idea what will come from this potential law, as much of a prophet you think you are. This is the first major attempt by the government to stop online piracy so the fact that the supreme court has a tendency to lean for protection of corporations has hardly anything to do with this. There are many corporations against SOPA as well, so this isn't a matter of corporation vs. common man.
Also the difference is Universal played a part in allowing MegaUpload, therefore it has consent, where these illegal download or reproduction of audio/visual tracks do not. That's the difference, one's illegal, the other isn't.

What?
US has already forced a law in Spain that's SOPA-esque.
I was already researching SOPA before RIOT even made it's stance as well.
So much will be shut down because of how badly the bill is worded.
Wikipedia, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Youtube, just to name a few.
This bill is bad-news-bears, end of story.

That's it!

don't take this personal. But it seems everyone somehow knew about SOPA before Riot posted something about but never even bothered to comment on it until now? Find it hard to believe, even if I have more faith in you than most people. I actually think the bill is very precise, not badly worded.
And who cares about the US enforcing the law in Spain, we're talking about US citizens and websites

Actually there was a thread in off-topic about it around a month ago I think. If I remember rightly it went to around 4 or 5 pages.

Put all the pirates out of hobbies and jobs and what you think is going to happen?
It's not going to be like a Disney movie.
Wait...
I thought that making pirating MORE challenging was a GOOD thing for pirates.
More prestige, more fun.
Tri lane for life.

Honestly, SOPA wasn't "on topic" before now.
So shut the **** up with your "No one cared till now!" ********.
