Um I don't know all about it but it's like this:
First upvote = 6% - First downvote = 6%
Second upvote= 5% - Second downvote= 5%
then it get's lower and lower but I am pretty sure it's like this.
since you didn't have that many downvotes yet the downvotes weight more than a upvote!

^ That's not how it works.
The voting system uses a Bayesian average. Basically, when you're at a low percentage an upvote will give you more and a downvote will take away less. When you're at a high percentage an upvote will give you less and a downvote will take away more.

IMO: You should always be willing to give a reason why you down or upvote, not after 20 votes that it becomes anonymous.
Just a bit displeased that 2 cocky people downvote without a reason and bring me from second to 6th place...

I think that basically it drags you toward middle(50%). If you're 20% you will get more for upvote than if you're 80% and if you're 80% you will lose more with downvote than if you are 20%. Also more votes mean less and less effect by single vote.
Defeat is not the worst of failures. Not to have tried is the true failure.

I would like some info regarding the voting system. How many votes do you need to get X %, and how many downvotes for X %.
Since I was at 85% with my guide. It required 7 votes to get from 80 to 85%. While ONLY 2 downvotes (without a comment... derp) bring me back at 80%. I don't really understand why this is the case, how 1 vote van bring you down 3%. Not really good fun when you've put so much work in it and just because you pass some other guides, they downvote you ;)
So how does it work?
