Karma is halfway between both of them and has a problem because of it (isn't the best in bot because she won't farm and won't get AP, lacks the CC other APs have in mid etc.).
Soraka can be played both as a support as well as an AP champ but does pretty well in both roles (although by far the best as a 0 cs support imo), so she's not really in a bad position right now :P
