Hey guys I'm trying to decide which to buy for my bot lane ranged ad champion.

I am pretty decent with both champions and enjoy them equally, but which is going to get the job done better in most situations?

I know cait has the range advantage and her traps are pretty awesome, but graves is able to put out a bit more burst and is able to tank more hits.

Late game they both can slaughter a team if played well, but graves has much more aoe which can be good in team fights.

What are your thoughts?

Graves is better but Caitlyn is still fairly good.

More importantly, Caitlyn is a hot sheriff lady with big boobs who carries a rifle. You can't say no to that. <3

Caitlyn= Early game power.
Graves=Early game power bur he can hold his own late game.

Your choice really. Cait has range, Graves has burst.

Thank you to jhoijhoi for the sig, and all the dividers in the guide.

Cait = Safe pick
Graves = More aggressive and in my eyes better pick

i feel like both suck pretty hard late game. Graves is pretty mana-starved and fairly beefy, he's not my favorite AD. Cait is great for poke in lane, doesn't really do a whole lot throughout the rest of the game though
Thanks for the Signature MissMaw!

How does that make any difference at all lolol?

Her ghost would be better than Graves' ghost perhaps.

Caitlyn has a long range as you pointed out and much more stronger (while reasonably safe) poke. She makes sieging towers really easy and comfortable by placing traps in-front of herself and team-mates while poking down the tower at distance as the enemy try to clear the minion wave asap. She has one of the strongest laning phases of AD carries thus, usually she wants to have an aggressive lane partner to score some possible kills by either exploiting mistakes made by the enemy or coordination with the jungle/mid. In return of this she sacrifices her late-game in not being as good as others ( Kog'Maw, Vayne etc) if she hasn't done well (or came even) early or mid-game.

Graves is more "tanky" due to his passive True Grit but during team-fights due to his short range he is put into vulnerable positions thus you have to become very cautious with positioning on Graves and that is passive is more of a compensation for that short range rather then a bonus. I'm surprised no one has mentioned the utility of Graves, Caitlyn may have her traps but Graves has his Smokescreen which is basically like a mini Paranoia. It's a reliable slow and landing it in the center of the fight can really give your team that slight edge - pretty annoying to be frank.

Oh wow, so clever naming one exceptional circumstance where the results differ. Really useful. >>

IMO, Cait, to the AD carry, is what Leblanc is to the AP carry, or what Garen is to the solo top. Insane early game, but her late game really, and by really, I MEAN REALLY suck unless she's incredibly fed.

Graves has the same problem, but he requires less kills to be useful late game.

Champions like Miss Fortune, Sivir, Vayne and Corki are MUCH better pick IMO

Cait and Grave are only popular because they are really easy to play

+rep me and you'll get good karma, wich means you won't be reincarnated into a rock! Isn't that awesome?

But yes this idea has been discussed more than Pam Anderson's tits in a plastic surgeons office.
