Guide looks great, very good formatting.
I agree with the cheat sheet, except the
If you're talking about his ultimate, Phreak said something about it being just a bug that will be rectified. Hope that's true. I was actually enjoying him a lot. Thanks again :) !
Nope just been confirmed, it's not a bug. They are planning on buffing/changing him in the next patch to make up for it. sigh..
While I don't generally follow this build to the letter, it did help me a lot in starting to play with Xerath. A suggestion may be to include several other midlaners: Katarina, Talon, Mordekaiser, or at least some experience with them. Thanks a lot!
Yeah I probably will... but after this huge nerf, I'll see how viable Xerath still is.
I simply can't agree that lux is an easy opponent for xerath.
I dont know if it was because of free week xeraths, but in every single game this week i beat xerath as lux.
All you need to do is dodge skillshots, and if you dare to use locus of power and mage chains il just flash away and hit you with a Q+E then even if you stun me, an early negatron cloak + two dorans is all i need to win a fight.
Then again i must just be facing noob xeraths
+1
It's probably the Xerath players you've faced tbh. Xerath's harassment is simply a lot stronger than Lux', costs less and is on a lower cool down. Additionally, Xerath outranges Lux and he has hard CC.
You tell me that you can simply dodge his skillshots and build mres. The same thing applies to Xerath in this case, he can dodge her skillshots as well and he has build in % magic penetration so he can deal a lot better with Lux building mres than the other way around.
Thanks for your vote and thoughts though, they are appreciated.

+1 Good overall guide. I like the fact that you offer multiple different builds. I have to ask, who did the banners and line dividers?
That would be me; except for the title banner, that one was done by jhoijhoi.
ALL OF IT. YES.
I really appreciate the amount of thought you've put into all of this.
It seems like you outlined the bad tendencies of Xerath players, and that most of the other guides on here are guilty of them! Lol.
Overall everything is good. Though, I guess I always liked maxing Locus of Power second because it helped me maintain my distance from fights. With a death cap and locus, I was able to fire of ArcanoPulse with LoP, then 4 seconds repeat it. It worked well to poke down the enemy's health before the team fight was initiated.
I'm going to try maxing Mage Chains second now though. I presume that Locus of Power probably would be better for newer players?
Maxing Locus is defintely strong to increase the poke; yet maxing Mage Chains gives you more burst, more dps and it allows you to stun more often. Maxing locus might be a bit better for newer players to poke with him; although in most matchups, I would recommend against it.
