Also forgot to mention, i run mostly 3s (less chance for derp *** people to join on my side and i can more reliably carry). What ive come up with at this point is to grab CD reduction boots and a Frozen heart, then go for WotA, Ryali's, a hextech gunblade, and a situational, probably Lychbane. The WotA pretty much makes my spells free once i get some ap, and with the combo of the cd reduction boots and frozen heart i can spam my spells about once every 2.5 seconds. Using this, i was in a 3 match. 25 minutes in i had 3 kills (i was running with tards) and i dueled an Olaf with 8 kills and a good build and won with a quarter health left. his farm was about equal to mine, slight bit less. Freakin. Sweet. Thanks to all for your advice, it helped me greatly!

Hey, if you liked any advice i gave, be sure to +rep me! Oh, and check out my Shaco and Maokail lorecraft in my Blog! I'm a starving artist in need of attention, so please feel free to read, respond, and critique me! Please? Anybody that leaves a comment (good or bad) will receive a +rep!
Well... I think that
Creeping Death generates a little constant shield when on, and if you have a ghost, the shield is impossible to get down (and if the ghost is actually the AD carry...)

Wota>dcap/abyssal/sunfire combo in whatever order you need.
Tanky morde with plenty of dmg. Abyssal + Sunfire have great synergy while making you pretty tanky.
Take 9/0/21 masteries for 10% cdr, buy a blue pot later on in the game and your good to go. If you pick up blue buff at the same time you should be max cdr. Too much gold goes to wasted stats for you to achieve max cdr w/o blue buff. I might try adding a DFG to my build like someone said though. All I do is farm for the first 6 lvls anyways.
9/0/21 is 100% no.
Sunfire is 100% no unless their team is 4 melee AD dps, and then a mage.
CDR is actually bad for morde in the early game because of health costs.
AP makes his health costs more efficient, so is the desired effect.

ou should go sth like 9/21/0 anyway
Meh, 10/9/11 is better if you really want to get defensive.
9/21/0 is meh, you should either go for 10/9/11 or 21/9/0 IMO.
Tri lane for life.

I actually think about it, cdr to spam your shield up, then loose some HP and then get with spellvamp back to full health. And because cdr is bad on morde early, get it later
So simply start with sorc boots and wota, then go for rylais, then deathfire grasp(fit in an early kages if you want), then void staff and then zhonya's. This way, your hp+shield saves you from beeing bursted by mages, zhonya's helps you vs autoattackers and with wota you regain your hp. All together with high damage. Of course, no rabadons, but the other items are enough to make up for it. If you don't feel you need zhonya's, you can obviously also buy rabadons.

9/21/0 is the route with the least sacrifices/underpowered skills on Morde.
IMO going 21/9 isnt worth it, since you must skill Havoc and Archmage (if you dont prefer early AD on him ..), Havoc is meh and Archmage not rly sth worth investing in on a tank-type mage.
10/9/11 seems fine rethinking it, you rly can make use of MS/Spell vamp, but actually missing that CDR/tenacity bonus and a weaker/stonger MS isn't worth the 3% vamp.

Sunfire is not a very good item for him.
Want armor, go Zhonya's or GA.
End. Of. Story.
