I prefer to start Philosopher's Stone -> Berserker's Greaves -> Zeal because I want the AS to get the passive in, and the movement speed to move in and out of battle. I sell the Philosopher's Stone mid-game, as it pays for itself in 13 minutes and 20 seconds.
I then take a Vampiric Scepter and go for the Frozen Mallet for the HP and the slow.
Now that I'm tanky and fast I go ahead and pick up Infinity Edge and finish Phantom Dancer.
The game is probably over by this point, but I would get a Bloodthirster and a Guardian Angel for the last slot.
I never played her as carry, but even if I wasn't hitting hard, I was moving fast, farming without wasting mana, and owning in team fights with Wild Growth. As soon as the enemy team crowds around our tank, boom Wild Growth and they're all knocked up and slowed by 60%. Even though they would win team fights when I didn't use Wild Growth, if I did, we owned all our team fights. They simply could no longer position themselves when they're AoE slowed for 7 seconds.
In my opinion, its just NOT viable at all. Especially cause her aa is homing.
If you don't want to play her as support, I think AP would be more viable. But of course support lulu imo would be the best way to play her.
I would start with a Doran's Blade at the beginning, but that's only because I like starting off with Doran items. Your end-game build doesn't fully bring out the potential of AD Lulu. My end-game build in one game was a Doran's Blade, Bloodthirster, Berserker's Greaves, Phantom Dancer, Infinity Edge, and a Frozen Mallet. I have no permanent item build as of currently, hence why I am searching for an AD Lulu build, but I carried our team against a fed Vayne, a fed Caitlyn, and a 4v5 situation.
Personally, I would level up Glitterlance, Help, Pix!, and then Whimsy, because I don't find myself using Whimsy on my enemies very often. At level 1, it already has a 35% movement speed buff that I use to escape or chase my enemies. Help, Pix! can help you see your enemy if they run into bushes and helps you fire a point-blank Glitterlance. Also, at level 5, Glitterlance and Help, Pix! both do a significant amount of damage to help contribute toward your DPS when fighting. I would keep Whimsy at a low mana cost early game, so I could utilize a Sheen or Lich Bane without a high mana cost.
That's my opinion. Nice build. I'll try adjusting my item build with this and see how it turns out!
