You know what would have fixed tanky Ryze?
Lowering the mana ratios, raising the AP ratios. No base damage compensation.
An I'm not talking 1% on just Q or W. I'm talking 2-3% off all the skills.
Ryze is the only mage, other than Galio and Viktor, that gets free damage at the start of the game with no investment into anything. The fact that he can buy a Sapphire Crystal and health potions is just broken for him. He gets about the same scaling that a standard AP champ would get if they got a D. Ring, but he gets the survivability of 2 potions added onto this.
Why can he do this but not any other mage? I dunno.

Didn't I actually done that at my rework? The only changes I did aswell are range increases so he can stay away from fights, so he can build more squishy and a little adjustment to his earlygame dmg. Also I changed the priority between W and E around, now W is a one-point wonder (again a buff to earlygame).

Yes, you're right about it being kinda overpowered, but let's not get hasty here.
His Q is his only high mana ratio, and it's on a much lower cooldown than his other spells, so the others aren't really worth bothering much with. Lowering his Q more than 1% will hurt him bigtime if the base damage isn't raised.

I wasn't even looking at yours. He doesn't need a buff to early game at all. With RIOT's new buffs, he actually escaped with about a 17 damage increase on his Q. That's without any items too.
Lower your base damage and it'll be fine IMO.
You know what, just to prove how broken this new Ryze is, I'm going to start going AP Ryze in normals. Only mana item being RoA.
EDIT: Riot doesn't want him being at the back of fights. They either want him weak and at the edge, or in the middle and tanky. Unfortunately, they gave him too much middle ground.

I wouldnt really care about free thinking/opinions either, but he posted 3-4 (even more) reworks abusing the "Theory Crafting" forum.
None of them were reasonable, some not even necessary and while he overpowered stuff, recreated the whole champ resulting in a similar copy of another one many told him normally (including myself at first) that those are total rubbish and why.
Deaf to reason/arrogant and whatsoever he keeps talking to a point where you just want him to shut up already.
Compare it to a guy who joins Moba and calmy describes in all seriousness in "General Discussions" how and why MLP:MiF isn't nearly as great as some of you may think, if you like that image better.
