Yes and no. There are companies deviating from that.
For example; Google.
I've yet to hear about Google doing something bad like this.
They've probably done bad stuff too, but for being one of the biggest companies in the world I've heard surprisingly little(almost none) bad about them.
They follow a good motto; "Don't be evil.". Seriously, that's their in-official motto.

Not really. There are tons of companies who don't pull **** like this. Actually, I haven't heard of any other company pulling legal **** out of their ***es like Apple does. The only thing Apple has going in their favour is the religious factor, if it wasn't for that then no one would buy their products, and why would they?
And you can take a look at video games and see that gamers are moving away from selfish companies like EA into smaller compannies whose objective is just to make the best game they can.
Uh, yea. I think Canoas is right. I don't hear a lot about things like that.
Most recent things are all Apple's doing. (according to my 10min google search :3 )
Also; yea, Apple is a ******* religion..

"Blizzard spoke thus; Thou shalt not BM. And the players replied Nay, I shall Play my hand with Lethal already on the board. And so Blizzard sent unto them this Brawl of Yogg, As a lesson for their sins of Pride and Greed, for he is the Prophet of Madness and RNG. On that day, the tavern descended into an era of chaos and darkness, until the weekend passed and everyone forgot all about it. Amen. Book of SMOrc, Verse 20, Chapter 4." - Feam T
