I think you don't understand the reasoning behind it at all. I would love to have the build every game, unfortunately, money is a problem. All those items cost so much. Mallet does so much for so little. Also don't underestimate the power of 100% slows, mallet brings much more team utility and soak potential than trinity force does.
So your build
is 1600 + 4070 + 2000 + 3000 + 2355 + 350 (1200?) = ~13 gold, to be effective.
my build
is 3250 + 2000 + 2355 + 350 = ~8k for my build to get rolling with a decent amount of resists and health. Obviously not as good as the build above but the point is that as a player I do not 14k gold every game. This leaves me a lot of room to build resists or damage through any number of items.
As players get better the games get shorter because people know how to end them, if you bank every game on getting fed and taking the game super late to where you can mow everyone down then sure, but it takes sooo long, 4k gold which is almost the entire lane phase just to get the damage you want. Trinity Force gives you absolutely no teamfight survivability, if you wanna play assassin Irelia go ahead, but you WILL die. For the same cost (a little less actually), you can get frozen mallet and a chainvest or negatron.
People jump to conclusions as to why I prefer mallet over triforce, but the reasons are in the numbers. If you want to downvote because you disagree on how to build a champion than go ahead. These are my opinions based on my experience.
I also mention trinity as an item possibly to buy, if you read the itemization section.
Ur have a point, but still, i somehow disagree. Yes it's expensive. But u are by no means squishy. U have solotop, and with solotop u can farm to Trinity in atleast 25 mins. That's still superior to many squishies in hp. But yes, you will be more squishy. Your build is giving Irelia a near tank role, if i get it right. And that's not irelia in my opinion. In ranked games (The ranked games i play), solotop will be farming 80% of the game. You will get the gold for trinity if you focus 100% on farming early game.
But as i said, you have a point. Im just sitting here, with the build i play with, the build im doing very good with, and thinking it's the best. But yes, i get it. I will try this. Next time i comment, i will have tried this out. Im just saying, the build i play with, is a build that i personally dominate quite alot with. In ranked games, u will 70% of the time have a tank. Either it's an Alistar bot, Amumu/Rammus/Alistar/other tank jungle, maybe even galio mid. IMO it's not an assasin build, just an expensive high damage tanky bruiser build.
Im going to try the guide out right now, will report back. Maybe vote if i feel it's good.
