Perhaps. But it's still kinda rude to do it. I've only done it 1 or 2 times but that was just on guide that really are horrible and have below 50% rating. I think it's okay to do it in those guides cause the people that have made them have most likely realized that they are not good. If it's a normal guide with a decent amount of information and bb coding then of course I'll give feedback when downvoting it.

Sometimes people don't want to go into full disclosure as to why they dv'd your guide. ("your" being anyone)
I stopped making guides because there is honestly no point.
-A majority champs which fit x/y/z/p/d/q roles can all be built the same and be as effective/affective (I can never remember which is which) as any other champ in that same role.
-Knowing the above it is simply a matter of creating a build which follows current meta, then making it look good (in my experience most people think a good looking guide means it's a GREAT guide). CONTENT is the most important thing but oh so many people forget that.
-Ergo, why spend time making guides that no one (or very few) people will fully read if all it comes down to is someone doing extra coding/formatting?
-Bottom line, feel free to write guides, but keep in mind; in the end there is very little anyone can do about DVs and most guides all end up looking the same after awhile. So what's the point?

True that. I've noticed a few differences between mobafire and solomid.net
Mobafire - There's more newbies/noobs here but there are still veterans and people who have played for a long time. No offense to anyone but it is true. 50% of the guides on mobafire are short and don't have a lot of bb coding a.k.a they're not good. But the other 50% are guides that actually have a lot of info and are good. Still..the reviewers in mobafire are kinder but they are also not very willing to give proper feedback. Don't get me wrong I love getting positive votes but most of my positive votes say "Good build +!", "good job +!", etc. Not a lot of people actually discuss builds they look at or ask any questions about them.
Solomid.net - Approved guides have a lot more info than Featured guides. Featured guides are like the 50% and below guides on Mobafire a.k.a Ugly and only say which runes, summoner spells, masteries and items you should buy. There are more "pros" on solomid.net but the reviewers there suck. All they do is upvote featured guides and downvote any other guide they see without reading it or giving feedback.
Conclusion - Solomid.net's guides can be a bit better but their community only goes there for guides by pros and downvotes the rest. Mobafire's guides are a bit worse but the community is more kind and better despite not giving that much feedback as well.
