My condolences to all the people who had to suffer from the happenings at 9/11/2001, be it in the following wars or in New York.

We remember because it's the least we can do for the poor souls that lost their lives this day. No matter how many times you try to avert the topic to war or other past events, what happened that day doesn't change. They died because we turned a blind eye towards an unseen threat. No one that day deserved to die. It kind of sucks to see you belittling their deaths by saying worse happens elsewhere. A death is a death and what happened that day is personal to a majority of Americans for we were attack as a nation on our own grounds. The innocent died for a political agenda. It happens around the world, 9/11 reminds us of this since this grim reality as brought to our attention in the way that it did. If you still can't acknowledge this, that's fine, just promise me you'll keep your mouth shut around those who wish to pay their respect to our fallen countrymen. Now please canoas, take your discussion elsewhere.

Again canoas, you're missing the point. We as a nation choose to acknowledge the day in the way we do to remember those who died that day. Just how some people pay their respects to the dead soldiers on veterans day, I choose to pay my respects to those who died that were merely caught in the middle between two countries politics. Take your irrelevant political beliefs elsewhere, this thread is meant to honor the fallen of those that died in the terrorist attacks, not to discuss the fallout of what happened afterwards. If only the roles could have been reversed.. and the US had the 66000 innocent deaths and Iraq the few 3000. There should have been 42 more planes heading your way.

I don't understand either. It's been 11 years. At most I would be ashamed for it since it would remind me that for those 2 towers the USA killed 66k Iraqi civilians.
"Oh ****, some terrorist organization killed 3000 of our people. Let's go into a country that has nothing to do with it and kill 22 times more."
It's time you start mourning the tens of thousands of people the US killed as well. Maybe then I would at least not joke about it.
