I can play the devils advocate if you want, but truth be told: there is no argument. When I was a YEC I was gullible, I simply wanted to believe. Like the proverb suggests, you can show them the reason and evidence behind your position - but you can't make it sink in. This is something they have to investiage themselves, so unless you get to know them personally - don't bother arguing.

For all those fanatic believers around here, one post I always like to state in such a discussion:
If you want to make me believe that YOUR god exists, I'll tell you, that I'm sooo ****ing almighty myself, that I can easily kick his *** and therefore don't give a **** about this wiener!
And herefore, I, Darcurse "the ****ing Almighty", propose on you the one and only UNIVERSAL RULE you should follow, after you are deemed to be ready to judge* what's right or wrong:
"As long as it doesn't bother me, I don't give a ****!"
(* If you believe that having another religion/believing something else is wrong, you're indeed not ready to judge for yourself e.g.)
