Hi,

I am currently maining 4 top lane champions but so far i have not bought proper quints for them yet (stuck with gp10 quints). I kindof want quints that work on each one of them and in all matchups (so vs AP and AD champs). The champions are Malphite, J4, Jayce and Cho. I am currently considering:

- 1 armor 2 MR
- Health
- Health regen
- Movement speed

What do you guys think is best? Any suggestions?

MS, though AP for Malph/Cho and AD for Jayce can work too.

Move speed is your best friend, especially since top lane is gank heavy.

Universally speaking MS, Hpregen and flat hp are the best, you could pick any of those and do well ^^

Disagree, hawk.
MS is generally the best. For j4 and jayce, flat ad is pretty great.

My go-to quints for top are:
movespeed (malph, cho, rumble, vlad, tryndamere, many more)
flat ad (nidalee, teemo, riven, a few others)
flat armor (i have a bajillion rune pages so when I'm playing j4 against riven, i take armor quints)
armor pen quints (going 25 armor pen is effective on certain champs like irelia. if you do primarily physical damage but you don't have any abilities that really scale off of your AD, armor pen is extremely dope. I've had success with 25 arp nidalee, gp, j4, renekton, wukong, AD sion, and olaf)

I'm not a top main, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Actually, Quints are the runes which mostly depend on your playstyle and how to counter the enemy. There are many viable options.

Optimal quints for each champ in order of my personal experience of viability.
Malphite: MS or Armor
J4: Arpen or MS
Jayce: AD
Cho: MS

MS are universal, Health Regen is strong (92~ HP per min), flat AD work for a lot as well (those with AD scaling specifically).

Other viable options that are more suited towards style are flat health, armor pen, Magic pen, flat AP.

Malph - MS. I used to play against a guy in scrims who built a mix of ArPen and AS, quints included. Unsure which one were the quints, but it was certainly powerful.

J4 - AD, Health Regen, ArPen, MS

Jayce - AD/ArPen. I know Dyrus and I believe a few others such as Wings and VoyBoy sometimes/usually run health regen on him.

Cho - Depending on the role (as Cho CAN be played AP, or Tanky Bruiser), a lot of quints are viable.

I've been having pretty good success with AD, flat armor, and flat Mres quints. I think if you can't afford a set for each specific character, go with those.

I like running flat armor runes and flat magic resist. If maxing is standard, J4 will have a lot of natural armor. Flat magic resist completely shuts down ap champs early in the game giving you an easier time in the lane to grab kills and farm ingnoring their ****ty harass.

Thanks to Amazing Monkey for the sig. Just like his name, he's amazing
