My favourites:

1: The Hitchhikers Guide through the Galaxy(all 5 out of the trilogy of four)
2: 1984
3: Norwegian Woods
4: Kafka on the Shore
5: The Universe in a Nutshell

and somewhere between 1-5: The Lord of The Rings. Deserves its own place.

Favourite author is definitely Haruki Murakami, even though Douglas Adams comes very close.

I'm a bit surprised no one mentioned A Song Of Ice And Fire. IMO it rivals LOTR or is at least pretty close.

I did Game of thrones=A song of ice and fire

George RR Martin is not as good as Tolkien imo though

I Must admit the story is pretty good and the endings of each books are so good. I love the characters and the cynical ambiance of the novel.
