IDEA ON HOW TO FIX BROKEN GUIDE SYSTEM:...

I'll tell you what happened. Throatslashers COOL GUY CLUB (CGC) struck and restored order. What if 100+ of us banded together? The structure would work something like this: I would appoint 4 other generals (all high elo/smart/well respected). We would look at the top #1 guides that sucked, and we would look for another guide written by an active moba member that was 10X better. We would then give the word, and the legion would all upvote the good guide and downvote the bad guide, catapulting it to 1st. It technically wouldn't be exploiting or anything as we would be upvoting GOOD guides and downvoting BAD guides. Before we would initiate upvote/downvote storm, we would try to contact the #1 guide holder and bring to his attention the flaws in his guide. If he corrects all of our issues with the guide, great. If he doesn't or he doesn't respond, the storm begins. I believe I would need about 100 volunteers to make this even possible. THOUGHTS?[/quote]

[/quote] Half of them get upvotes via reputation, because their guide was there first, or just simply because the hive mind keeps up-voting it "because it's in 1st" place. I think it's fair to counteract some of the stupid reasons guides end up there.[/quote]

I would be in, although this doesn't solve the problem itself (those guides will still be sitting second top or top and the whole scout drama). Also, we would be replacing one problem with another: if the guide became outdated, we'd need the army to downvote their upvotes and upvote elsewhere, or a new upvote/downvote army. But hey! [/quote] If a guide is a steaming pile of shit that the writer has never updated, it doesn't deserve to be the #1 slot. I guarantee you they got more than 100 upvotes because of nubs seeing it was the 1st guide and just auto-upvoted. human nature OP[/quote]

[/quote] By the time their guide gets outdated and shitty, the new system will be in place, but I honestly imagine the new system won't be implemented for months, which is fine.[/quote]
