There is a difference between ` and ' - from what it looks like, you're using the button near the Escape key, top left. You should be using the button near the Enter key to the right.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

In my original post both lines of code are using apostrophes from the same button. The only difference is that one of them is copied from Word. I honestly don't know if I've ever even hit the ` before that moment just now as it is not convenient nor is it the apostrophe commonly used while typing.
To recreate just write the code in Word and copy it.

Use Notepad instead. It doesn't allow any sort of formatting, so it won't convert ' to `. If you're worried about spelling errors, install a spell check into your browser. As MW can't replicate MobaFire bbcoding anyway, it's pretty worthless to copy it to MS to "see the bigger picture".
Thanks for your opinion Jhoi but I do not agree that saving my eyes by placing them in Word is worthless. I've done enough coding to know exactly what will happen when I insert it into the editor so I don't need all of the pretty pictures. I need a comprehensive work space so that I can easily find what I'm looking for and not go nuts from working on a dark editor all night.
I don't understand why asking for an apostrophe to read as an apostrophe is a problem. Also notepad does allow for formatting it just isn't innate unless you have previously changed the base settings. My guide is over 100 pages long and I'd much rather use a proper word processor than something like notepad which is just as difficult to look at as the site, lol.

The tab thing (where it doesn't float down with you as you edit chapters) is a bug and will be fixed soon (source Matt, ages ago).
My main problem is that I don't know why MW is changing your apostrophes. It doesn't make sense. Shouldn't be too hard to enable aliases of ` for ' though, it'll depend on whether it's a high priority or low priority task.
If your guide is 100 pages long, it's too long :/

"Will be fixed soon" "ages ago" Looks like there is cause to bring it up again then.
The champion matchup section in myguide is extremely long however with the use of spoilers, remember I was the one who figured out how to edit the text for the spoiler names, it does not seem nearly as long and does not provide unnecessary information to those that don't want it. Thanks for your opinion though, I'll take it under consideration even though readers keep asking for more info.

I personally do all of my editing for my guide ahead of time in Microsoft Word so that I can spell check everything and see all of the text in a larger fashion instead of compressed in the individual chapter boxes of the editor. One issue I have run into is that any BB Coding that is copied from word into the guide that contains an apostrophe will not link correctly. The way to fix it for the guide is simply to erase the apostrophe and retype it but this can get extremely tedious over time.
Looks like: Zhonya’s Hourglass
Because for some reason the code actually has to look like:
In order to produce:
Did you even notice the difference? It took me forever to see it but apparently the system is making a distinction between Word's ‘ and the editor's ' which just seems kind of silly when you consider it is the same freaking button... Any idea why the apostrophe from Word isn't recognized by the BBCoding system?
Another small change is that for some reason the "Guide Setup" menu no longer floats down with you as you go further and further into your guide. This makes it so that you have to scroll all the way back to the top to save your changes and then go back down and find out where you were again. I personally edit with two tabs open so that I can refresh my revision and see the change immediately but now that process takes quite a bit longer since the menu no longer floats... any way to revert this so that it works how it did before?
Thanks for checking this out and even more so if you are able to address either issue as I'm sure I'm not the only one that would benefit from your attention :)
