nah, you just cant open your eyes and see the truth. something is offensive depending on if the society considers it offensive. someone is offended if a comment/action offends them. in a society eating cow may not be considered offansive but in another it might.
whether something is offensive or not is dependent on the general common sense, not on the specific feelings of one individual. that's why you can't say some things on tv. for example, imagine there's only one person in the world that is green, and there's one person in the world that think the colour yellow is offensive. saying "green people are stupid" is offensive while "i like yellow" is not. it's common sense.

Once again, you prove it is the subject...

In this example, society is the subject. One society finds eating cows offensive, therefore it is offensive to them, and another does find it offensive, therefore it is not offensive to them.

So is eating cow offensive or not? The answer is it depends! It depends on what society! It depends on what SUBJECT, whether that subject is you, or I, or them, whether it be an individual or a multitude. Thank you once again, for agreeing with me.

As to your last example, both can be offensive. I can be offended by your preference of yellow. Why not?

YOU NEVER SAY WHY I CAN'T BE OFFENDED BY YOUR PREFERENCE OF THE COLOUR YELLOW. If anything, please, just answer me this with a justifiable reason.

You just hide behind 'it's common sense', when it apparently is not, in your case.

And what is your so-called 'common sense'? I see prejudice and extreme bias here. I say one thing is common sense and you say that it is not. Which is it? You might say that it is common sense not to put elbows on the table whilst eating, whilst I say that it is not common sense.

You make so many cultural and personal biases that your reasoning is completely off. I even laid it out in THE most basic logical structure. What do you have? Just a lot of hot air.

Y'know, some would say that it was common sense to accept logical reasonings.

yes, i think it is the subject, the subject in this case being the community, not each individual person.
i never said you can't be offended by the colour yellow, i said that the colour yellow is not offensive. you being offended is not denpended on yellow being offensive, it just means your crazy.
it is common sense, your the one saying that offensive is dependent on the people hearing it, so i can say whatever racist comments i want and my comment isn't offensive. saying "all black people should die" is no worse than "i like yellow" to you, because the comment itself is not offensive. that is what you said, not me, you.
it is common sense to me as it is for anyone else except you.

So... you agree with me... thus denying your original stance. Congratulations on joining the Dark Side.

Why does it mean I'm crazy? No reason for this assumption, just your personal bias again. You fail to provide a sufficient reason.

No, I said being offensive is dependent on someone being offended. You can say whatever racists comments you want and they wouldn't be offensive, HOWEVER, someone will take offense at them, and henceforth they become offensive.

And yes, that is what I said, that 'all BP should die' is no worse than 'I like yellow' to me. I find no offense in either of them. Someone else, might though. But that's just the point. It's dependent on the subject.

If there is no subject to offend, then there is no offense.

Strange. You don't appear to be employing your common sense.

Please explain to me what you understand to be 'common sense'. Did you know that common sense pertains to the culture that you are in?

Thus, by admitting to common sense, you actually admit to bias.

Common sense certainly has its place in philosophy, but rational argument is rational argument regardless of common sense. Having manners might be common sense, but bares absolutely nothing upon rational discourse.

Saying 'it's common sense' is essentially hiding behind a barrier of irrationality in this case. You do not use reasoning, you do not use evidence... Your arguments are circular...

Everything you say is insubstantial.

i don't agree with you, i maintain my stance. whether somethign is offensive or not does not dependent on each individual but on the society as a whole. "black people shoudl die" is offensive, "i like yellow" is not offensive irregardless of who is offended by it.

so for you they're no different? lol you just proved you ahve no common sense.

common sense is biased, obviously. however, it is what lets us know what is ok to say or not to say. if i go talk on tv or radio my common sense enables me to know what is offensive and what isn't. you do not appear to have common sense, you are broken and should never be allowed to speak. i have common sense, i know i saying "black people should die" is offensive, you think it's as bad as saying "i like yellow". common sense is part of being human, it's what allows us to coexist, you lack common sense so your a sociopath.

So if society wasn't offended by it, then it is not offensive, right? And if society found yellow preference to be offensive, then it would be offensive, right? So then it is dependent on the subject and not on the statements themselves.

Derp.

If you honestly want me to prescribe differences, then it is as follows: One holds intent to offend, and the other does not.

However, this does not make them inherently offensive. Both have the capacity to offend, one is also more likely to offend, but it does not mean it will offend. Henceforth, neither are offensive in and of themselves.

You, sir, are a certifiable idiot. The way you marginalise people because they do not take offense at the same things as your own, excluding them from society, calling them sociopaths... Are these acts of someone who claims to have 'common sense'? Your mouth says yes, your actions say no. Your reasoning also says no.

yes. that's how things work in the real world.the statements, like i said before but you say it doesn't, carry concepts. the concept of white men doesn't exist in a society with no white men.

yes, some statements are inherently offensive. such as "all black men should die" is offensive provided the concept of black men existed. if black men do not exist it would be the same as saying "all sdjkfgasdkgfdkhfdkhas should die".

no, i'm not marginalising people for not taking offense, learn to read. i'm saying you are a sociopath because you cannot understand what is offensive and what isn't. whether you are offended or not is irrelevant.

and your a sociopath. anyone knows this. if anyone here is invited to a tv show or radio show and is asked "please do not say anything offensive" they will know exactly what the host is talking about. you don't, you'll say "oh, everything can be offensive if there is at least one person who finds it offensive, and since i don't know who is listening i can't know what is offensive or not".

anyone else will think "i can't insult people, use curse words or derogatory terms".

Well, at least you don't deny being dumb. Suffice it to say, I'm not a sociopath, since I don't have an antisocial personality disorder, nor a dissocial personality disorder (since I'm on a forum talking to you).

So the sheer amount of celebrities and famous people who swear, insult people or us derogatory terms are sociopaths, right?

Sir Alan Sugar
Gordon Ramsey
Frankie Boyle

All been on radio/TV shows, still do the things you say.

What you've done is called a 'sweeping generalization'.

no, they know very well that those things are offensive. a sociopath, like you, cannot distinguish between something being offensive or not. they know very well what is offensive, and still say it because it's what people want to hear. yes, people pay to see frankie boyle being offensive, but are not offended themselves.
