Not so great of a guide... many items in the build are outdated/dominion only, though it claims to be updated. sorry but i have to downvote. I'll change when this better reflects the effort put into it.

Well thought out? It may sound paradox but that's exactly what it is and what it's not at the same time. Some things like a Regrowth Pendant as starting item make clear, that the author didn't really try his own build. He added some new items to the guide and claimed it 'S3 UPDATE'. Wouldn't be much of a problem if it were 'well thought out' but yeah ... well ... cancel the well. It's just a mind construct and it has some failures. Double Unique Passive Tenacity? Maybe he hadn't much time to really rework it but then it's a shame to put the 'S3 Update' label on the guide. Will not downvote, but please fix it.

I have some suggestions for you:
1. swap out Ghost for Flash. Its more useful on Cho'Gath.
2. Start with a Hunter's Machete and 5 Health Potion. It makes your clear faster and ending with more health, and Regrowth Pendant was removed from game anyways.
3. Legendary Armor gives less than 10 MR and armor in your guide, I feel Juggernaut is more worth it on Cho'Gath.
Good work, it's well thought out.

Great build. Although, I think that my ability sequence is a little better. I start with Vorpal Spikes, then I take a point in Rupture at level 2, one point in Feral Scream at level 3, and then a second point in Rupture at level 4. This allows me to have a strong gank. Since Cho' Gath has relatively weak ganks without Rupture and Feral Scream, I like to have both of these up and doing considerable damage before Vorpal Spikes has gotten more than one point. While this takes a little away from my initial damage output, it lets me have stronger early ganks. Just something I thought you should consider.

P.S.
I max Vorpal Spikes out ASAP after level 6.

Okay, I've tested this out. I never played Cho'Gath prior to using this guide and I was level 27-29 using it. I won 10 out of 11 games with Cho'Gath using the recommended items and strategy here. Great guide. Can't wait to try this out in ranked.

I can definitely understand, why you would prefer other shoes than Mercury Treads, however cho is such a big target and most of your foes tend to panic if they see him and therefore use all of their CC's on him.
Certainly the ganks would be more powerful, but thats why I prefer using Ghost.

Intriguing guide.

I usually play Cho solo top with a regrowth pendant, but didn't think to use it in the jungle. Also, love the mallet on any AS build.

I'd suggest getting boots of swift, boots of mobility, or ninja tabi. Merc treads are nice if you're having a hard time surviving due to CC, but a full feast stack is more than enough life to fix that problem.

No point into mastery for smite?

Great guide, works surprisingly well in high ELO games. As a huge Cho player myself, I've experimented with builds akin to this one (the first build), however your runes seem to work quite a bit better than what I had used (Desolation instead alacrity). They allow for a much faster jungle clear, and a more unexpected early game gank. +1 for sure. Lastly, Drasq, HOW CAN YOU EVEN COMPARE THESE GUIDES? o.O
