So I went to look up season 3 Swain guides to see where my own builds stack up and if anyone else was rushing Liandry's as hard as I was. Lo and behold, here's your guide!

Personally, I like an early chalice in lane instead of tear->archangels->seraphs. The tear just doesn't do it for me early game. Being able to take a hit is something I love about Swain's playstyle. Thus, I also like having a few defensive masteries, but you explain your position on the utility tree very well, I'll have to try it out. At any rate, this is almost exactly the build I've been using since Liandry's was introduced, with great personal success. Thanks for putting this up!

Yes I know about championselect but it's not all the time correct because its voted by random people and even if you look at the comments on the counter there is a quite a dispute about it. Again Fizz may be considered a counter but it comes down to skill of the player and i tell and explain pretty well why in the lane matchups section. Yes I know i need to add more people the the lane matchups (lol) i just havn't had enough practice against them as the ones i have put up i did say MORE ARE COMING SOON. About the MS it's entirely your choice it's just personal preference im not saying its bad to go AP quints or not and your bringing up the master strategist? What does that even have to do with anything were talking about lol. Plus your taking it from a person who has played some ranked and against platinum players I kind of know what im talking about.

Correct. There are definitely more than one way to play any champion, and it's good to get used to every single possibility. Fizz, is indeed dependent on both players. I've seen good Swain players wreck Fizz and vice versa, they both work their ways against each other (although Fizz would have a slight advantage thanks to healing reduction, but that's only post-6). Overall, the guide is great. Layout is manageable and guide offers a lot. Good stuff :)

P.S.: Should've turned on comment-to-vote earlier to avoid some trolling lol

Here is a link as well to further prove Angryoldman's argument and my own. Be willing to look at this site because it has a lot of useful information.

Ty but you should probably try out my guide before you dis on it your info is nice but it is also not entirely right either. It varies between skill of player and MS for Swain is better then you think you might want to TRY it out first cause the MS actually helps him a lot more sometimes other then getting 15 bonus AP or anything really. Plus im still not convinced by the way you are talking that you have really READ my guide. Yes i kno E Q W is good i said it vary's between how you can catch your enemy the 2 skill sequences i gave are just a couple of examples. Fizz and Katarina aren't necessarily hard counters either no one can really hard counter a Swain if you are necessarily good at him and about going top as Swain i agree that he is definitely a great pick top I just don't really want to go over that maybe in the future though.

Actually Angryoldman is correct. Swain is countered by fizz in three different ways. I play Swain quite a bit and have had my fair share of matches. They say Katarina is a counter to Swain but I have to disagree because he can snare her and use his full combo when she ults. Also you should try to add all of the possible mid champions. Especially because Talon hurts swain quite a bit. Also having one way to play swain is good but having two ways is even better. Because sometimes you won't be able to get mid so learning to play him top is just as useful. And using movement speed is decent but Swain is the master strategist it's his title. If he needed movement speed he wouldn't be the master strategist. If you can land stuns and get fed early game you snowball very quickly and help the team. So i suggest ap runes.

1. He has the ability to cut your health regen
2. His playful trickster allows him to dodge your snare combination.
3. His ultimate slows you down as swain is already slow as is.

Good to see you changed your build. But movement speed runes for swain? There is no need for them and can be replaced with better things. A good combination for swain early game that should be considered is E Q W . I see you talk about going Q E then W which is understandable as the slow is wonderful but the damage over time works better E Q W. You should look into that but I will plus one now seeing that you have changed your item order and have cleaned it up a bit. Also Fizz and Katarina are hard counters to swain and should be mentioned because they slow his healing in raven form. You should try to cover him as a top character as well. He is a great top champ as well and can counter Mordekaiser and Dr. Mundo.

You obviously didn't read my full guide and just looked at the item build on the top. That is pretty troll of you to do that. Plus I think you have no common sense either on how to play Swain there are times where Randuin's Omen Spirit Visage and Warmog's Armor are okay and i go over every one of them in the item section i also go over Rylai's Crystal Scepter. You didn't read my guide at all. you are pretty ignorant....

The problem is that you mixed everything you can. At the moment 9 items + boots. That's confusing as hell and should not be displayed like that. What you do is: A core build, the build that works best 4 you or you use often. Then one or two sections about situational defensive or offensive items.

What you don't do is putting every frking item in one line and even include something like the smaller rods. It's okay to do that if you go e.g. tear cause it must stack but for the rest, nope.
