Thornmail is a horrible item on rammus. Let me say that again.
why would the enemy adc be focusing rammus? I'm wondering and I can't think of a reason. Buying thornmail for the short duration of the taunt is not worth it. Thornmail is only worth it if the enemy repeatedly attacks you for the whole fight. Unless this is 500 Elo, then it's not gonna happen.
as well, armor is so overrated in the new season it isn't even funny, black cleavers rip through that **** , so you need to stack health.
All the pros build sunfire and warmogs on rammus now. that should be enough proof.
the armor is horribly nurfed on the last season, I really don't understand why riot did that change. Other then that, When I play rammus, I always aim to taunt the enemy adc or at least a strong ad damage dealer. If the adc is fed, then with thornmail and ulti, hes dead or atlest has to retreat from combat by the time the taunt ends.
Other then that, I do agree that sunfire is more importent now days, but i still think it's a perfect rammus item.
Another thing, u say that he's a tank and no1 will focus him on higher ELO. I'm sorry but that just isn't true. If ppl would never focus tanks on high elo, then whats the point of getting a tank anyways?!
So i'l answer that, you get a tank to initiate and force that aggro to come at you. You will be focused as long as the enemies cant focus your carries because they stay back.
And as rammus rolling into the front line and forcing the adc aggro to come at him, you are 70% sure to win the fight.
And thanks for you guyz, that actually posted a (somehow) revision of what my guide lacks. I will try to fix that, and also the part with the force comments (forgot about that function... <- NOT PRO LIKE)
And to the Powerball part, I thought it could be a great idea to deal damage (and apply CC) if you go in a dual lane, but of course, in a solo-lane you would max out Defensive Ball Curl first...

I have no idea why someone would max Powerball first on Rammus, and the answer I found did not satisfy me.
If you make a guide, make sure that every choice you make is a choice that you can explain well.
Now I just find this:
"After that the Powerball, because it is the only (non-Ultimate) spell you have, that actively deals damage (and btw. it helps when going off into the jungle and kill the Ancient Golem )"
Rammus is a tank, not a damage dealer. Besides, once you have Sunfire Aegis, you do enough damage and you have enough speed in the jungle, you do NOT need the early bonus damage from Powerball.
The big strength of Rammus what other tanks do not have is his 3 seconds long taunt, but it is only 3 seconds long if it is at lvl 5.
So no, can't agree with yo build bro :D
thornmail is a horrible item on rammus and gives you nothing. Health is nessecary.
Incorrect. Building Thornmail allows you to literally make the enemy Vayne kill herself by attacking you, not to mention you get additional attack damage from having armor. Rammus's autoattacks hurt a lot if he's allowed to get hits in, and you'll be surprised how much damage he can do during his taunt.
That aside, this guide needs work.
There's much more I can nitpick, but I'll spare the pedantry. Look at how high-elo players play Rammus, and compare that to your guide. You should be able to figure out the rest, so good luck with the corrections.
