If you're elo verified on MobaFire, you should have your IGN up for display so we can check your credentials. I find it hard to trust any gold+ players who claim to be gold+ but don't have their IGN in their profile. It even says in the rules that you cannot expect to keep your verification if you change your IGN, so I don't know why this isn't mandatory already.

I'm especially supportive of this, as MobaFire elo doesn't expire for 3 months; someone who was plat last season, and isn't right now, may just be slipping through the system, getting their guides to High Elo, even if they are unranked this season.

Thoughts?

I completely agree with you but someone having been at plat last season should still get some credit since ther mustve been a reason he was at that elo. For example i was around 1,2k to 1350 Elo last season and now im at around 1150 and on the way working myself back up since my placement matches put me at around 1050 Elo with neutral wins and losses.
That's why for me the 3 months are a reasonable amount of time. Maybe a lower timer would work better.
Cheers, Gretel

I see no reason not to include your summoner name in your profile, but at the same time we trust Veterans to check whether someone's elo is correct in game before verifying, so I'm not sure why you'd want to check credentials (not saying there haven't been mistakes made, but I also wouldn't say it's necessary to check everything for yourself to be sure of who you can and cannot trust).

As for the fact it takes 3 months before elo expires: I've mentioned this before, but players that have made it to gold/plat last season aren't suddenly less skilled now just because they've been reset. Sure, they might have some trouble climbing back up, but considering the fact everyone got reset and everyone would basically be playing against the same players while being at a lower elo directly after the reset, I don't think that's unusual.

tl;dr I don't think it's completely necessary, but at the same time I see no reason not to include it.

I agree with Wayne. I see no reason not to include your IGN, but at the same time the Veterans (who are supposed to be trustworthy) are the ones verifying the ELO, so it shouldn't make a difference.

Yeah I agree with Wayne and Astrolia, vets won't verify people who say they're gold/plat/whatever if they aren't gold/plat/whatever

I'm not talking about verifying elo. I'm talking about being able to check your elo against your name if I'm some average Joe reading your guide. How can I trust a gold+ guide if I can't even check if they've played xxx champion in the last few months?

That sort of thing.

That's a problem regardless of ELO. What's the difference from a Gold or Platinum rated guide with no summoner name compared to a non-verified guide with no summoner name? Either way you can't check their match history.

It seems your suggestion is more "require all guide makers to have a summoner name attached to their account".

Forcing someone to include a name wouldn't make them put their real name, much like forcing someone to comment doens't mean they post words that are useful.

People who want to share their summoner name will, but it shouldn't be forced on them, regardless of their ELO.

Not to mention that people can have smurfs they play on. For instance, I've played on smurfs and I've played on friends' accounts to get them gold borders in s2. You can't really see my complete match history from just my own summoner name. What do you do then?

Nobody should be getting their account verified without having their summoner name in their profile (the "Summoner Info" spot). The whole point of ELO verification is to say "I have verified this mobafire account = this LoL account." Any Veterans who have verified an account that doesn't provide a summoner name in their profile have done it incorrectly. This is already a rule of ELO verification.

I mean the system is called "Elo and Summoner Name Verification"...
