So 80 AP and 250 Mana vs 40 AP, 500 Mana, 15% CDR, and 60 Armor and a slow passive? I think it is worth mentioning in the guide as a defensive and utility option.

I believe flat mana regen would be better since you get an early chalice anyway.

This sounds counter-intuitive. You say you never go mana hungry by the time you get double Doran's + Chalice... and yet you get scaling glyphs which kick in around the time you get these items. It seems odd to me.
I only run scaling glyphs if the lane is going to be a farm lane to where I don't need the early mitigation... like against
