Far from useless :V
It just made him a LOT easier to lane against because he doesn't have that stupid armor + shield which makes him out-trade like every bruiser without building any damage.

He's quite good mid, meh top and jungle (unless not warded).

Lee Sin is the hardest champion you will ever attempt to learn to play. Ever. Hands down, he's hard.
Assuming you JUST picked him up, I'm assuming you're probably making the same mistakes I did. Instead of giving you a complete guide on how to play the champion, I will provide you with tips to play him effectively.
IMO I consider Lee to be more powerful as a jungler because he has access to all three lanes.
In jungle
Start with E, but only get one level in it and leave it for last. The reason you get the E is to clear camps faster and provide a slow when you gank.
Max Q first for high DPS. Leave the Q set to regular cast so you can see the line.
Max W second. This allows you greater sustain when jungling, and also allows you to absorb more damage when fighting.
Get R when you can, and always try to E>E someone to slow them down, walk behind them, and then R them into your team.
When you gank, always try to lead in with W and use E on the opponent. Then follow up with Q as the slow is 100% easier to land on a slowed opponent.

It's an opinion that I think many people would disagree with you on
In all honesty

His jungle is okay and he's viable there but definitely weaker
He used to be quite strong mid but now I think there's only a few favorable match-ups for him
all around I think he's pretty bad right now and you really have to out played your opponents to see considerable success

Thanks for the Signature MissMaw!
Lee Sin is just fun. And I love playing fun champs.
Thank you jhoijhoi, Keondre, LaCorpse, The_Nameless_Bard, Arcana3, Apfeljack, Hogopogo, eddie199, Xiaowiriamu, and JEFFY40HANDS for the spectacular sigs!

Lee sin is absolutely one of the most exciting champs to play. Buy a sight ward every time you recall, and never die again.
Q + Flash + R + Q is one of the most fun ways to secure kill

Lee is fine, you can either play him like an assasin or a supporty way like building warmongs, solari, aegis and peel for your team instead of dealing damage. Also if you decide to play him like peeler, max E and W and maxout Q last.
