But props for keeping an open mind about the staff upgrades. A lot of players are close minded in their itemization and claim they HAVE to get Augment: Death because they can't sacrifice an item slot for either of the Upgrades that don't give you any real AP.
Just remember that choosing either upgrade that isn't Death severely cuts his late game power. The yellow one is in fact worthless, and the only reason to get the blue one (from mid) is because you haven't snowballed and you're just acting utility mage.

As stated before Q max generally sucks. It's only good against melee range characters you can easily abuse with it. Against other mages, who you're more likely to face at mid, Laser max is always better and has higher damage output after the 2nd rank.
The example build you give has absolutely no CDR.

Alternative runes could be something to add as well as an ability explanation - I would find that really helpful.
I've given you a +1 because what you have so far is pretty good, but I still think you have a lot to expand on and develop.
Additionally you could play around with some of your formatting of the guide to make it easier to read.
You put six items, you're gonna have to kick one to the curb. Other than that it's a nice guide and I'd like to see it become larger. You're gonna need to put some sections on gameplay and such.
I put in the guide that Deathfire Grasp is a place holder until you need to buy zhonya's hourglass. It's ok for you not to see that. Yah, I just wanted to get this part done. I might have gameplay out in a little bit.
