Must be because you didn't understand it.
Real spoilers, DON'T look at this if you haven't finished the game.

Bioshock Infinite was a spectacular game and I feel bad for anyone who doesn't even try to understand it.

Not quite
If someone thinks that any other ending would be more suitable than the one that took place
Than that person does not understand it at all.
It's not about disagreeing with me, it's about paying attention to details and understanding the game.

I don't know a lot about Bioshock, but I do know this:
A good ending is an ending that builds itself noticably up.
I have 2 examples for this, a good example, and a bad example:
(BAD) Eleusis:

(GOOD) Amnesia:

So, it is not about understanding the plot, the plot needs to build itself up, else it is not a good plot :P
And maybe you noticed those little things from the beginning, but someone else might not care for it, for those people it might be a really strange ending. It is not the fault of the players, nono, it is the fault of the game producer :P Especially for a famous game like bioshock.
